Might need a recipe... Please :)
Sloe gin is sooo nice. I can't quite imagine it with chocolate, but I'll definitely give it a try!

    MEGA ... posh alertness :)

You're more interesting than the listed people anyway.
Lol, thanks. I think the idea is that the relatives have interesting information to impart from their respective fields of work. Not sure what.

The kiwi certainly has a lot to say. He has become quite a barker. Somewhat annoyingly.

When I was a child we had a generation of mute dogs. I miss that somewhat.

Never had to do that. The faith schools wouldn't allow food to be brought in and the other one always went for cultural food stalls to encourage diversity - to competitive for me.

My school had cake sales often, and then a fete thingy for money raising in the summer. Cd sales for Christmas the year. Goodness knows what else. Parents paid fees then raised more money buying cakes, CDs and to bola prizes no one wanted.

I've never had sloe gin. I heard about it about 30 years ago, when somebody I worked with said they made it. But, it's like all the other things - I am not going to be spending time/money/effort attempting to make something in case I don't like it. Also, if you've never had it, you don't know if what you made is [a] close to what it's supposed to be like horrible and wrong.

I saw a chef on youtube, a TV chef, American .... making THE most abysmal yorkshire pudding EVER .... and he clearly had no clue that they don't look like that when cooked and he'd got it wrong.

I am not much of a gin gal, but you can buy slow gin. Next time we meet up remind me to get you some, I think Mole Valley (the agricultural merchants ) even sell some. Remind me and I'll bring you some. I'll forget , so don't feel cheeky asking, I will remember I told you to when you have reminded me.

I've never had sloe gin. It does worry me, NDG feeding alcohol to 8 year olds.

Dh is meeting some family this evening....a few people expected didn't turn up.

'Where is cousin x ' he asked ' oh, he is meeting the king of x,

Where is uncle so and so ' he has audience with the pope'

And where is cousin z ' he is meeting with the president of y'

But there was a person over (why the family were meeting)

Dh said why are you here then? ' I was invited to give a speech at the House of Lords now I am heading home'.

Dh said he feels like a veritable underachiever now. He just gets to talk to the critters and me!

Ah, but non of fir's relatives got to be part of the NP's Eurovision jury. Ask yourselves... What's the most fun, deciding the merits of a song being sung by a woman looking like she's burning at the stake; or a man dressed as Dracula, singing soprano while surrounded by giant red condoms; or meeting some random President. I think you know the answer;).
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Hahah, oh yes, we choose np. :)

I could always ask dh to dress up as Dracula and unroll some normal condoms. Maybe fill them with Ribena.

It's like Chelsea flower show these things have to be scaled Down in reality.

DD's prep school was boarding with a smaller number of day girls so there were no adhoc sales.

OH was for a time on the PTA and then chair for a couple of years . PTA responsibilities included organising a summer fete and a fundraising ball.

Fetes were always fab..loverrly setting, lots of old fashioned stalls and despite days of worry, lucky with the weather. Great music usually provided by a bunch of dads creating a band for the day. Happy days.

It is our village fete on Saturday. Pray for sunshine, I am on the bookstall..near the beer tent.
