Sloe gin truffles? Now they sound interesting...
As I mentioned, I'm not massively keen on chocolate, but when I've made them before, they've been hoovered up by my family very, very fast. And my family aren't the types to eat things they dislike to be nice (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Might need a recipe... Please
Sloe gin is sooo nice. I can't quite imagine it with chocolate, but I'll definitely give it a try!0 -

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.....
I had an overseas summer job while in Uni 'shucking' oysters at a beach bar.
Steel mesh glove, sharp knife, and even then I managed to stab myself more times than I care to remember.
Love fresh oysters, with a dash of lemon and tobasco, but very happy to let someone else prepare them.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Happy to. You need, however, not just a dash of sloe gin, but the sloes that you've removed from the gin.
Once you've drained the gin, you de-stone and freeze the left-over sloes, and then you can add them to chocolate truffle mixture happily when the time suits....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Dh is meeting some family this evening....a few people expected didn't turn up.
'Where is cousin x ' he asked ' oh, he is meeting the king of x,
Where is uncle so and so ' he has audience with the pope'
And where is cousin z ' he is meeting with the president of y'
But there was a person over (why the family were meeting)
Dh said why are you here then? ' I was invited to give a speech at the House of Lords now I am heading home'.
Dh said he feels like a veritable underachiever now. He just gets to talk to the critters and me!0 -

Awful, absolutely awful.

Did you get sloes last year? Or are these better steeped? Most of our hedge is blackthorn and we had a lot the precious winters p, but last year we had almost none.0 -

Isaac and I made lemon biscuits earlier, so our kitchen looks as if a flour bomb exploded in it. I'm now making sloe gin truffles. Kitchen smells absolutely lovely - I don't like eating chocolate much, but the smell of molten chocolate is gorgeous.
Never had to do that. The faith schools wouldn't allow food to be brought in and the other one always went for cultural food stalls to encourage diversity - to competitive for me.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
