DO IT!
OK. I'll do something about it tomorrow (or should that be later today?).0 -
Wouldn't it be a fabulous world if estate agents picked you up and took you round places... especially if they could take you to 2-3 in a row.
It's the drudgery of a 40 mile round trip to potentially dislike something on sight that gets my goat.0 -

I'm only looking for places withing walking distance of where I am now.
The more recently listed one states its chain free and the pics show an empty house...
The other one still is on rightmove etc and the estate agent's website. But been on sale since 2010? Surely not. It must have something really wrong with it to not have been snapped up as a btl.0 -

I did see a movie once where that happened, however there is one definite downside and one issue that might go either way:
Down side: it was in the US - I think Malibu or somewhere similar
Upside/downside - The estate agent took the wife out to look at summer rentals in his soft top merc and they ended up having an affair
Can anyone name the movie?I think....0 -
In Florida there used to be a range of "tourist offices " that were just a front for timeshare sales companies (because promoting tourism's not the governments' job, right!)
You'd get a few brochures but would be lucky to get out before a sales pitch would kick in that could last half an hour. And the pitch would be to take you away for a morning or day to a "free meal" where a mega sales pitch would kick in.
Much better going to places under your own steam I'd say!;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

It's pretty normal when you're looking at rental places round Wimbledon for some reason. No idea why.0 -

Presenter said Armenia and Azerbaijan won't vote for each other as they're arch enemies - and in the past people have been questioned by the police if they voted for the other country http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8205907.stm
There are a few like that, though Armenia and Azerbaijan is the most extreme. Another one is that Greece doesn't vote for Turkey or vice versa, similarly Cyprus doesn't vote for Turkey. I don't think these made it through the semis this year though so you can't watch out for that.
Also, CK's homeland of Georgia is interesting. It had quite a major spat with Russia not long ago and so you wouldn't expect to see a lot of voting for Russia, except that there are quite a lot of Russians in Georgia. CK can probably explain that better than me. Similar issues exist between Russia and Ukraine, though they do tend to vote for each other. There's actually a big Russian diaspora across the former USSR states and that's why you see a lot of voting between them.
Ironically, in spite of having been at war with each other across much of the early 90s and having unresolved issues still, the former Yugoslav states also tend to vote for each other. Again, they didn't make it out of the semis this year, so you won't see that for yourself.
In terms of the UK, it's an interesting barometer to see which way Ireland votes for us. Generally that's pretty friendly. And Malta almost always gives us quite a few votes, unless we've entered a total stinker. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It's estimated that there is something close to 1m Georgians in Russia, and a further 250k in Ukraine. The numbers from Armenia are similar, especially in Southern Russia.
In fact, in the part of Russia that Dina is from, there are a large number of Georgians, Armenians and Azeris. I've just checked, and the number of Armenians is slightly greater than the number of Russians.
Remember, too, that there are very few problems in general with Russian and Georgian nationals put in the same place together. It's the governments that need to grow up, and not the nationals. Russia as a nation has my full support, and I have a friend who would like to stand for parliament in Russia (specifically the Korolyov-Shchyolkovo-Yubileyny-Pushkino seat) at the next election, and she has my full support!
My favorite was Olta Boka (Albania, 2008), with the contest in Serbia. She came, she sang in Albanian, and whilst she didn't get points from Serbia, it was somewhat symbolic. I just wish that Georgia had been less childish with Moscow. In terms of the UK, it's an interesting barometer to see which way Ireland votes for us. Generally that's pretty friendly. I'm going to be a little devious, though, and say that I want the UK to give Romania 12 points this year, to prove a huge political point to the UKIP, and also give the Daily Mail something to write about (Bear this in mind, and remember you can vote for free from the App 20 times)

Europe as a whole (old & new) has tended to give voting for the UK a fairly wide berth since we rocked the EU's boat.
Whoever's the 'bad boy' of the moment appears to receive the naughty step treatment. It will be interesting to see how some countries vote for Germany (or don't vote for Germany) since the austerity measures have been enforced.
I find the whole thing so frustrating that I haven't watched it for years.
I think Lycra (or leather) clad bums will probably be getting my attention :rotfl:0 -
It's funny. On one of the music channels on Sky they've been playing Eurovision entries this morning. One of the songs that they were playing was Light My Fire by Javine. It's a fun dance pop song that caught the Shakira vibe of the time. It came 22 out of 24. It's taken a full 8 years for something similar to come around again this year. It's ironic really, if that was this year's entry for the UK it would probably have scored higher.
I hate to say this but it is true. The tolerance of black artists in Eurovision was very low when the eastern bloc countries first entered. Things are however improving. Our best shot at Eurovision though will not be sending our geriatric performers though, it will be to send a little known dance act with something really catchy with the capability to storm beaches across the Med and Black Sea, from Ibiza to the Greek Islands to Sunny Beach to Odessa. We are 100% missing the point at the moment. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
