I would have thought it could be you voting on your phone and OH on the tablet.

OH won't be home by then though. So I plan to run my evil multi-voting empire from my phone and tablet while he's on a plane., I need to get a white cat to stroke at the same time now. Oh the power, mwah, ha, ha...

Sorry, silver, there's something about eurovision that turns me into a bit of a fruit loop this time of year.

Techincally it could be abused, but we don't think it will be on a massive scale, lol. Please don't tell me I've given you ideas!

I don't think it's a scale thing, exactly. Our current flat is pretty large, about 1,400 sq feet, and our old one was 3 bed, 950 sq feet. But I never lived there alone - there were always 3 of us, and sometimes 4, living there.

Flats don't have to be nasty, or noisy, that was my point, really.
But .... you have probably spent a lot more on your flats than the cheap seats end of the market :)

Posh flats will be better. Cheap/shoddy flats are most likely to have been built poorly in the first place. Also, cheap/shoddy flats dwellers are more likely to have "young , noisy, idle scum" as neighbours - and a never-ending line of them as they move in/out every 6-12 months (or do a bunk).

'Scale' was likely a poor choice of word on my behalf. I meant more along the lines of what PN said.
I wouldn't even consider a flat in a large block, even if it was swanky and new (would probably be overpriced and with hefty service charges etc).

So, the slightly more expensive/ more recently listed one has an offer in which is likely to be accepted.
The only which appears to have been on the market since almost the dawn of time, probably really is still on the market. The estate agent (who I can only assume had a really heavy night last night/ isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer anyway) sounded about 80% sure it was still up for sale. He was going to call the owner and see if I could have a look around. I'm not convinced he wouldn't have forgotten as soon as I walked out of the door mind you!

I don't know if any NP saw this on my Facebook last night, this was a quote I was given yesterday:

    "As much as I like Eurovision, and have support for the songs I think will come near the top, I have some statistics for you;

50% of points is how you present yourself on stage
    32% is what you're singing
10% is where you're geographically located
And 8% is how well you can actually sing!"

Sorry CK, I'm not on facebook so I don't look at anyone's page... Interesting stats though. Did Bjorn and Benny show?

Piano for dd1 is 15 quid for half an hour and that was one of the cheaper teachers. Other instruments you can do as group lessons at school which is cheaper.

I pay 1 arm + 1 leg for cello lessons for Generalissimo #1 and 1 arm + 1 leg for cello rental.

Cycling to work on Monday is likely to be problematic at best.

Speaking of cycling I think I've landed myself in it. I was in the pub on Friday after work and got chatting to one of the comms people. I think I might have signed myself up to cycling to Brisbane next year, being sponsored for our main work charity (which to be fair does amazing and unpopular work).

This is the link to the directions:

    I'm 42 !!!!!!! I can't ride 1,000 kms!

PS I'm not going up the coastal route (Pacific Highway). Too much traffic, too many people driving drunk and/or tired.

It's funny. On one of the music channels on Sky they've been playing Eurovision entries this morning. One of the songs that they were playing was Light My Fire by Javine. It's a fun dance pop song that caught the Shakira vibe of the time. It came 22 out of 24. It's taken a full 8 years for something similar to come around again this year. It's ironic really, if that was this year's entry for the UK it would probably have scored higher.

I hate to say this but it is true. The tolerance of black artists in Eurovision was very low when the eastern bloc countries first entered. Things are however improving. Our best shot at Eurovision though will not be sending our geriatric performers though, it will be to send a little known dance act with something really catchy with the capability to storm beaches across the Med and Black Sea, from Ibiza to the Greek Islands to Sunny Beach to Odessa. We are 100% missing the point at the moment.
Ahh, euro dance......now the real good dance music would get me listening/watching

    That's fine.

There are 6 previous winners in the building at this moment. That's all I'll say.

One is from last year, one is from 1991, and there are 4 more for you to guess :)

on the market since almost the dawn of time...

Yesterday, during one of my "random googles", an MSE link was picked up - so I clicked it - and ended up in a thread that I'd participated in during 2010, when I'd been looking at houses in this area..... and somebody in this county had mentioned a property - and linked to it - and I clicked the link ... and that one was still on the market. Gobsmacked isn't the word really....

I'll see if I can locate it in my history.

Found it ... it was only a beach hut as it turns out - first on in September 2009 at £24,500: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-26966891.html

I wish they'd had music when I went to school. Pre-10 I'd had some 80 year old fella give me piano lessons for a sandwich and 2/6d (12.5p). Then we moved and that was that. I was "quite good" if I do say so myself..... but it was all over.

They had music at my school but like foreign languages I didn't take it, and for the same reason.

You need to practice an instrument for at least 30 minutes a day for it to be worthwhile, a 2 hour a week lesson where three quarters of the kids aren't interested / good just sounds like torture.
