I can't drink tea, it is a major migraine trigger for me.

I don't particularly like coffee, but I drink it because water is v. Boring.

It would be good to find a hot drink I actually like that doesn't have a bazzilion calories. (Herbal teas generally taste like dog's bath water)

I love water! I do find it hard in the cold weather though.

Some herbal teas are horrid, others are nice.

My favorite is just a sprig of rosemary, sometimes a thin slice of lemon, and hot water. It makes for lovely breath, and its ok tepid as well as hot (unlike tea). It's the best morning drink for me.

Dh's cousin brought Us a really nice German tea which you can have hot or cold.

Is redbush a trigger too tomterm?

I don't really know - I gather it is the tannin in tea that is the trigger. Tea, and orange squash (not juice) are the two main things I have to avoid. Lots of other things can be triggers but they sort of build up over time, so it is hard to sort it out. But tea and orange squash brings on a visual aura within 2 hours

    So.....

    I feel better tonight. :)

We talked late last night (well, we talked but I sort of hiccups and cried a bit). Dh said there was no way we would get her if I was so opposed to it. Which instantly made me less opposed it. I have become one of 'those' confusing women.

No, I wouldn't have chosen her on looks, but I do like her personality, and I think she might be a good personality match for dh. She was vetted this morning by a lovely friend of my vets, and she called me afterwards. She said my vet said if I had asked her to look at it and expressed these reservations but still keen to see then it was special. She also said vet had told her about special girl and old girl, and when she was next in our area if old girl was still here could she come and meet her, :).

She agreed with me that the horse is ugly, but also that she said, 'frankly, I love her. X said you know a good horse and when I turned up I thought it might be a joke, but the more I handled her the more I saw what a super little person she is. I think, that she is ugly, but sound. I understand Old girl is much the same?'. And that's true, I always say abut old girl, you'd have to have been nuts to buy her, none of her legs match even but look at her go still now!

I have such good vets. I cannot believe old girl is such a famous girl, and that they had mentioned special girl too....

Anyway. I feel better. I think ugly needs a name change. And the agreement dh and I have is that nothing is permanent. We have never wanted to buy to sell on, but if I say no at any point she goes into training and then on to loan.

Knowing I can say no makes me want to say yes. Fancy that. Guys, it really does work with girls.....

What about my rosemary one, or something similar with fresh mint?

A misspent youth, paying for university through washing dogs. Sooner or later they shake themselves when you have an open mouth.

Or, I could be lying. I'm a fiction writer. We lie for a living.

Did any of the Nice People see the article on Dan Brown, and his curious habit of hanging upside down method of curing writers block?

I long ago gave up trying to figure out what works with girls.

Since I mastered the art of "yes dear" many years ago, such a skill would be superfluous to requirements anyway. :o

I've tried mint in the past without liking it, but will try your rosemary tea.

Edit: yeah, he does look old. Maybe even ugly, too, or at least not beautiful.

How long should I keep the rosemary in the water?
