Good luck nikkster.
Didn't post this earlier, and may delete. Very strange scenario at work. Am challenging a hr decision. Since I did so, manager hasn't spoken to me. There are additional issues there not for a forum, however, it is really noticeable.
Likr lir's stated earlier, I know legally I am in the right here. Be intersting to see how it pans out...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Many thanks for your comments... My OH has some unfinished business to complete in our area before we 'fly the nest' and we have found a Caravan site not far from the house that will have found a very well equipped 'van on a weeky hire of £250pw or £800pm this sounds great because they are fully fitted out with everything for us. It is not booked as yet needs confimation from the OH but I'm sure that she will be delighted.:)
PN stayed in one but there were cows in the field. You have sold and arranged to move everso quickly.:)You need to check what the cost is of putting all your furniture into storage. That can be very expensive. My son was looking at a sort of left luggage locker for his gear in Edinburgh, and that came to £25 a month for something not much bigger than a couple of suitcases!lostinrates wrote: »Fragile is key here.
For the sake of what is important stick a piece of paper under her door. '8'm sorry I upset you. I love you. Il know you will do it perfectly in your way'. You might not feel like that just now, but ultimately, You know more than most ATM what is important.
My love to you spirit, I'm sorry its so grim for you right now.

Also, saw a job I applied for 3 months ago re-advertised. Rang them to find I didn't make the shortlist. Don't wish to sound boastful, but I was suprised.
So I rang them. They confirmed I wasn't shortlisted, but said I could re-apply? Is that weird?
I have asked for feedback, as I don't want to waste more of my time or theirs.
I'm now in a conundrum. Do I re-apply? I'm not desperate for the job, but am fed up where I am, and know there is no progression there. Small pay rise (£2k). More rsponsibility.

Did you speak to them?ie can you gauge whether it was a token can reapply or more thought behind it. My job was advertised for over a year, and closing date extended for a month or so after I applied. Job description changed a lot between applying and phone interview, and actual job is slightly different again.
I would say go for it.
Edit: meant to say, perhaps they have decided they address after someone slightly different to what they first had in mind, so might be worth reapplying (esp after some feedback if it is constructive)0 -

Seems odd - didn't make short list but can reapply - either you have all the 'must haves' or you don't, makes no sense to me.
But then if you are having difficualties where you are then maybe looking elsewhere is worthwhile, I suspect most places, even if they are in the wrong, will not thank whoever demonstrates it to them
Good luck with whatever transpires, the NP have your back.I think....0 -

Very much my thinking on both counts michaels. Indeed many ads will state prev apps need not apply. As the ad didn't, I asked the question...
Yes, I can't help but feel my card my now be marked..It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Anyone remember when my "not buying any new clothes" thing started?

For £600/month, I've given her a property worth about that, plus free Sky TV, as the mortgage is about £300/month and I was feeling a little generous

Interesting that you can find a mortgage lender prepared to lend on a 7 year tenancy agreement. I thought that lender's got concerned with anything over a year.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I guess there are two ways of interpreting that. One is that they don't want to risk any discrimination (or whatever) claims by telling you not to apply, but they have no intention of treating your application differently. As you say, feedback ....No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I am a little bit in love with the a macputer,,, oops.
Just noticed the garage quoted 3.8 hours for the clutch but charged 5.8 hours :mad:I think....0
