Is that a macputer moment?
The lancets I have, I use to draw blood from my thumbs.0 -
Back then I may have found a reason to decline:o as I was much more cautious about identity/location etc but feel very assured these days...and feel ready to 'boldly go' from virtual friends to real.0

What if you and Spirit are both loons though?!0 -
Lancet was blanket. An electric lancet would probably warm one up somewhat too though.0

Leave it with me until the weekend and I'll try to get a date. Weekday evening would be far better for me. I have to go to London to do a day's work so tying it in with that works best for me.
I'll be in St James so can do there (I know a couple of ok pubs at that end of town) or anywhere really but as I say, Clerkenwell is really easy to get to with some great pubs: lots of tube lines etc.
First thing: does anyone have an infirmity who would like to come but will struggle to get away from the mainline train station? I reckon I know good pubs within a few hundred yards of all the rail termini so we can meet at one of those if needs be.
Second thing: who's up for it? PM me if you are.0 -
Itismehonest wrote: »Thanks. So..... The landlord sold my husband, my friend & I drinks.... is wrong?
Yes. No more and no less wrong whether the husband is there or not. You wouldn't say "The landlord sold I drinks" would you?Itismehonest wrote: »I'm not quite as poorly educated as to say Me did anything. It's the ?, ? & I or ?, ? & me scenario. I can't ever recall it cropping up in Eng. Lang. when I was at school. We were taught to say "& I" but things seem to have changed across the years.
We were also taught to say "One does ......" but 90% of the time that gets a Posh Alert now:)
Pastures is right. You seem to have become convinced that this is difficult and that you can't understand it, but actually you already know when to use "I" and "me" when the "?, ? &" isn't there, so once you get the hang of it, you'll have no trouble with "?, ? &" either.
Kids are forever saying "Me and ? went to the park" etc, which is why adults bang on about "? and I" but it's never been correct to say "? & I" in sentences where you'd say "me" if you were alone - nothing's changed in that respect.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Lir and Lydia could you please edit your posts above to hide the identity of the restaurant.

You provided the delightful venue. There was no reason for you to provide all the food as well. We wanted to contribute, and everybody else did. I only got as far as making a cake (with DD) and then leaving it at home when we came.An electric lancet sounds like an interesting accessory  :rotfl:
I returned the second duvet to my bed a couple of weeks ago. Not looking like I'll be getting rid of it any time soon.
Second duvet back on last night here.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
