No rush viva. Whenever you're ready. I appreciate the gesture.
On books, as gardening looks unlikely this weekend I am planning on tidying my bookshelves & putting away all the books I've read in recent times. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Pastures new for director of the Archers
I was very excited and was keen to get on here to celebrate and then they changed the article. Apparently our dear friend doesn't have a new job after all:(. Sorry Pastures...0 -

Intrigued....how do you think this would play out at a meet up?
Presumably it's assumed a large percentage of the people we all talk to wear underwear of some sort?0 -

My understanding is that the Mormons took an 'if you can't beat them, join them' view of the play, and have even put an ad in the programme saying that the real book is even better. Which stuck me as pretty cool really, though I still don't want to be retrospectively baptised when I die.
It was a really entertaining show in the purest sense but some bits could offend as they were on the edge however these topics are part of real life and to have them as a subject for a bit of black comedy/satire and to make people laugh out loud is clever.
It isn't 'anti-religion' at all as it's more a 'study' on belief and the blanket power of belief. It digs out religion and superstition so they blur together a bit.
I read some reviews that said it was terrible but they were by high brow, hardened critic types of a certain age. The audience was 80% 20 somethings.
On a musical level it wasn't anywhere near the 'melodic' standard of Jerry Springer the opera, les mis or Billy Elliot..... it was more of a mickey take on Rogers and Hammerstein type stuff so the singing was uplifting, funny and very well done....just no amazing melodies that you remembered when you left......but that didn't affect the enjoyment at all. There was some great gospel type singing in it.
We both laughed throughout the entire show....and all the people next to us.
If you loved Jerry Springer the opera, then this will be right up your street. JS wasn't blasphemous in my viewl and I could never work out why they did the protest...unless it was actually some kind of secret hype......actually that could have been it.:)
The show was based on their South Park episode in 2003 LINK
I can't find the link to a review I read that summed it up perfectly.
Well worth the ticket price
Two negatives on my new job hunting push already, bums! Who the blooming hell is going to take me on when a minimum wage retail job who are not particularly fussy about who they have says no?
good luck job hunting.
Son has kept his rejection letter from Asda saying he wasn't suitable (and it really, really upset him at the time to be rejected as a shelf filler at Asda) so don't take it personally..it's just not the one for you.:)PasturesNew wrote: »People just get on my nerves

We had internet trip out today for 30 mins...0 -

If (IF) we get our bijou heap in Margate, then we'll do an NP day out and we can all wear nice knickers
The survey is through and she has live worm in the roof.....but easy enough to deal with. The double glazing (which is yuk but would have 'done') is fitted into rotten frames....and so on and so on....I think we are a bit mad.
In other news OH is absolutely loving his Central St Martins experience and, though 6 people booked and paid their £650, only 3 (incl OH) showed on the 1st day and since, there has just been 2 of them so it is like a private super tutorial with a top photographer (who worked on broadsheets for many years).
He met up with my old tutor today for lunch today.
He has learnt what he wanted to learn and now needs to practise.0
