We received a telephone call last evening from the couple who are purchasing our Bungalow asking for another viewing around 10am this morning. They duly arrived just five minutes early and they were in a very chatty mood which was a very good sign, they told my OH and I that the people who are buying their property wanted to move in around the 9th April or thereabouts which is not many days away, I could see my OH starting to expell some heat with the thought of such an early date to achieve all that is required.

So we will be having a day out through to Trowbridge tomorrow starting early as we have two properties booked, one in Frome around 11.15am and the second in Trowbridge at around 3.15pm then we plan to try and fit in a run-around Westbury to see how we feel about this area.

So we are full steam ahead and will hope that the A36 around Salisbury is not running slow as it was midday today. Early to bed tonight.:)

Even without Easter in the way, 9 April would be optimistic to exchange let alone complete. Even with no mortgage, there is still legal work to do. I assume you will arrange a survey - even though you don't need one without a mortgage, it is 100% of your money at risk if there was anything untoward.

Silk knickers are a nightmare. In my experience they fall down. Definitely safety first here.

As we are talking about underwear, I'm a M&S boxers type, myself. Silk sounds like a nightmare to wash.

I would really worry for Bertie if I thought that he was going to get bounced into buying somewhere in 2 weeks, starting from scratch. But I think he's going to be renting. So, whilst that's a big decision, the long-term repercussions are much less. It will still be a bit of a stretch to find somewhere to rent in two weeks and get all the references and other paperwork done in time.

We are also in the same opinion as yourself silvercar, we will be in no rush to find our next property after the past four years of unfortunate happenings in our household.

We will rent in the areas that we like on paper just to get the true feel and see them in their real light, as many NP's have kindly advised and of course have a full survey done on the final choice.

The weather here is dry but cold 1'C so we will soon be off on our days adventure, have a nice day.

last day of work before long weekend! :D
we are shut tomorrow until Tuesday. I'm not taking the full time off but just like the idea of not being able to go to work.

(in reality, I will be popping in on Friday and Tuesday)

We rented for six months before we bought our last /current house. Worked very well for us.

Some of you will remember my posting a few days ago, where B&Q had credited my QUIDCO / Bank account with money from an item I'd never collected. Here is part of their reply.

They seem to be admitting they don't track QUIDCO Items  Then expect me to sort it out! It looks like GDB2222 is going to make a fortune on the fleet of Lawnmowers they ordered, and didn't collect:rotfl:

As for the £12 - I've just sent it to the Daisy Palmer Trust set up on behalf of the daughter of our old friend Inspector Monkfish, so the whole exercise hasn't been a complete waste of time, I hope B&Q are happy with that?

I have this morning sent in a query to B&Q about this, suggesting that they need to cancel the commission on my two reserve and collect reservations. I think it's one thing for this to be a terrific joke that a big company has a huge hole in their systems, but quite another to take advantage of it.

I will let you know what they say.

My views exactly. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there exploiting this loophole, thinking, if B&Q want to give away free money, that's their lookout.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Old horse is back on antibiotics. :)

Vet asked if I would consider taking some rehab clients. :). Considering we live near a large posh rehab yard I feel rather chuffed at this. :). Not sure I will though, because its a lot of social stress for the long termers. I might say yes with a minimum term. Hmm.
