Bertie, I really like frome. It is so near, yet has a whole host more going on. A cute old fashioned cinema where you can buy a g and t to drink while watching the film. There are independent arty shops, nice places to buy clothes and gifts and home wear.
Notably.....much cheaper fuel than over this way too ( we get fuel there when passing).
One of my very favourite new restaurants is there ( owned by a Hollywood actor but really rather lovely). Decent market( and smaller foods market for olives, bread cheese) and places we go out in evening to.
Frome really was not so nice a decade and a half ago and is a prime example of how 'in comers' money inspiring a regeneration has made a place which is now a draw.0 -

All makes very interesting reading to my OH and myself. We had our eye on a property in the Frome area, the SW part in fact which we will check out tomorrow on our trip to Trowbridge the only negative point was that it was oil fired which we have never experienced. It does not have a gas supply in the house but most of the Bungalows in the Close are on gas so it must be in the street.
You have now kindly given us a good honest picture of the areas and we appretiate this.:)0 -

Well, youngest has got to 15 and still he can't cope with birthdays...you would think he would have been used to the routine by now.
Open other presents down at my parents, blow candles out on cake, simple! Nope, open other presents under duress and try to escape before candle blowing commences and be in a thoroughly bad mood the entire time.
He doesn't 'do' social gatherings....
Two negatives on my new job hunting push already, bums! Who the blooming hell is going to take me on when a minimum wage retail job who are not particularly fussy about who they have says no?
Both DW and I try and let our birthdays pass unnoticed. Does it really make you 'special' not to want to celebrate (or even think about) birthdays?I think....0 -

Hmmm.
I have just received a gift from la perla from a straight male friend (via the post). Not sure what one says about that...er, thanks but not sure my husband would be thrilled? That said, haven't spoken to husband yet...he might not give a damn0 -
I haven't got a husband, does your friend want anymore friends:rotfl:.
Actually, that is a trifle odd and I think I'd stick to saying I bought it myself to Mr lir! Was it the right size?!0 -

Dh trusts me.. I would not consider not telling him. It's a negligee, so there is some sizing room, not a a bra. (Phew). I haven't tried it on, but my guess it will fit....just.
It's in one of my vary favourite colours. Which is thoughtful. Just maybe a bit too thoughtful. My imagination is creating normalising scenarios and this is the one I like best:
Friend is buying underwear for some girl and sees this and thinks, oh, lir likes that colour I'll get that for her.
Edit: even odder, I have had a look and its neither this season nor in the outlet of the la perla website. Hmmm.
Oh well, be grateful for gifts I guess. My la perla buy of choice might have been this set though http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/esmagazine/trends-mental-oriental-8495478.html?action=gallery&ino=50 -

He never grew into them either...he would run away screaming :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

The 'special' thing is not just about birthdays, he doesn't like the whole social thing of life....he would be perfectly happy never leaving the house and never talking to another human being ever, he doesn't like people.
Unfortunately, other people think that everyone else should like people and take part in normal life (school, doctors etc) and this is where the problem occurs...to youngest, how he wants to live is normal and everyone else is weird.
We prefer the term ' eccentric' to special. We made it!
