A further down side is you might end up very near me, and I am a horrid neighbour
Seriously, Bertie, what would you like to know about Trowbridge? I will see if I can help.
It's got most of what people need though. Train to bath and the south coast, seemingly good bus routes, library, supermarkets.
Not sure whatelse to say.
Many thanks for your lovely input. We have never been to Trowbridge that I can remember and as you say it has most of what we need. The property that we are going to look at is just a few streets south of the Lidl store and above St Thomas's Road without wanting to really name the road.
It has a local bus service within a short walk which we both will need, well my OH is twelve years my junior so a little longer for the good lady.
We did smile today when we called the EA who commented on properties go quickly in this area and I had to contain myself because the property has been on the market before Christmas but many of the EA's say this in their introductions, I'm too old to fall for that one.
I think that having you as a neighbour would be lovely as we think that you are a person of good will.
We can only call into the town and spend time there to get a feel of the place but to get other peoples opinions, like yourself is appretiated.:)0 -

Old girl's infection is back today too, so I think I will have to call tomorrow vet for her to arrange her PTS.. It's been putting off the inevitable for a while. I might ask of we could reasonably try another course of antibiotics, but not really sure what the point is now. If only she weren't so perky it would be an easier decision.
Sorry to hear that you have been unwell I must have missed the post entirely I am not really fit for purpose at the moment but trying hard to overcome.
I hope that the vet will be able to help Old girl's infections and I am sure that you are all needing group hugs to get some warmth into your systems.0 -

Oh dear, dear, dear! This is all terribly distressing for you. Poor LIR.
Edit: It's a tough decision to make, but I hope that, if I am ever in considerable and incurable pain, someone will PTS me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I will certainly second your thoughts there GDB it was the first time that I had ever been a witness more because it was the last thing that I was expecting but what a wonderful way to leave - it appeared to be totally painless.0 -
I totally want to be able to PTS me.
If I ever get as ill as I was, honestly, I don't want to have to fight back again for a percentage of life. It's tough enough when you have your 'full set of tools' but when you are always looking for something you had, or have misplaced its infuriating.
Anyway I am going to call the vet tomorrow. Having thought about it for a few minutes I think if he thinks its an option we will try one more course of anti biotics.. I would like her to see some spring if possible, feel some sun on her old bones. I think we also talked last time about a pulse treatment with antibiotics. I am under no illusion we are talking days or weeks now, rather than another winter, but she is very perky and I cannot yet convince myself she is as ready as I would be were I her.0 -
Bertie...
If that's on a quieter road there they are fine. Beware not to be on one of the 'canal road' cut throughs though.
A bonus of that area is you are near the minor injuries unit, and away from the worst side of the town and near the (flooding prone) way to the Historic city.. But it can be very busy there at peak times. I am one of those who uses the cut throughs.
If your choice is Trowbridge or Warminster, I still very much personally vote for Warminster personally. Fwiw, I have asked non resident parent NOT to buy in Trowbridge.0 -

Easily thought, given this thread. In truth I am a rather Unnice person somehow married to a nice one. In truth, I am fairly nasty. I just try not to be. But yep, I have a black heart.
Eat: just thought, depending which way you go into the town you might pass one of the cutest toll houses ever. The place opposite it is lovely too. They seem a bit lost where they are, but worth seeing.
I would hate to be near neighbours of ours.0 -

That may well be true (not that I'm saying it is), but you are definitely a very Nice Person.
Sorry to hear that you may have another difficult decision to make.0 -

LIR we really appretiate all of your comments and will take them ALL on board and try to take the best possible decision after our visit to Trowbridge. We will try and work out which of the 'canal road' cut throughs you are meaning and will probably make another visit to the area soon.
We do like Warminster very much indeed but at the moment the property market seems very slow indeed but it is possible that our next home will appear on the market soon.
We are all praying that Old girl gets a big share of luck in getting better very soon something that she truly deserves and that it puts a spring in her step once more. Lets think positive.0
