    It's apples and oranges.

This is a married jerk when you were drunk and perhaps let your guard down too much.

The right new relationship will be with a man who adores you, who you adore, with whom each of you seeks to improve the other's day, well...life. Someone who you feel totally comfortable receiving propositioning emails from...and sending your own back. Who makes you smile and feel warm. Who you want to see when things go wrong, or right, in other aspects of your life, and for whom you want to be their to enjoy their smiles, the funny way they laugh, and to hold them when they are sad or worried.

    It's two totally different things.

Ok - when you put it like that it sounds much more appealing :)

A dangerously on topic post coming up....

Mr S mentioned yesterday that almost all of the houses for sale in the village and nearby have sold signs. I looked on my way home tonight...and he is right.

Has the bottom of the house price dip been reached?

I had a look on rightmove about an hour ago and the difference searching including versus not including SSTC properties is quite alarming! (if you are looking for somewhere to buy, I expect I'd be quite happy if I wanted to sell)

I hope he was waiting outside......for a long time.

That was his clue btw...that you were not just hanging on his every word and movement and once he left the sparkle of the evening hadn't been extinguished for you.

Nikkster, not your fault or problem, put it aside and forget about it. A woman as lovely as you is likely to face more of this ilk. Take the compliment (for what it is) and dump the rest of the concern.

How much does it cost to convert a 3 bed shoddy detached to a 5 bed luxury property?

I ask because there is a 3 bed shoddy detached on a really big plot near here on the market for about 700k and a nearby top of the range job sold recently for 1.2m. Surely it can't cost 500k to do up and extend??

Just in case you look and know where I live, the 700k one isn't on rightmove and is on with an estate agent with the !!!!iest website ever - you can't even search by area, so don't waste your time. Its not even a local estate agent, so I don't know why the sellers are wasting their time.

Please don't quote - I'll definitely be taking this down! Everything italicised has been altered for obvious reasons.
Hopefully you'll all think I've been worrying about nothing anyway :)
Oh - and if phrasing is a little odd, English is not first language

    Hi nikkster,

just found your e-mail in the one that our friend had sent a while ago organising the drinks for tonight.

I was waiting outside the club for a while and at the end I got a taxi to come home. I feel so sorry that nothing happened tonight despite we both (I think) wanted it to happen.
This e-mail is therefore just to keep in contact and remind you that I would be delighted to see you again this weekend (or whenever you prefer) in where I live or wherever you want.

If you want to phone/text me, my telephone is this

    Regards,
    emailer

Edit - reading back (hadn't looked at it since I first saw it), hope I wasn't being waited for outside (I went home with girl friends as planned)

That is a well crafted email from someone who knows what they are doing. Do not trouble yourself a moment longer with the conceited wotsit. He is plainly a legend in his own mind in that he has interpreted your social graces as the actions of a smitten conquest.

I would definitely share it with other key contacts who were at the event.... to create awarenes of and make fun of his ridiculous conduct. That he has responsibilities is not your concern..as it was not his.

You may find he has got form.

Sorry if this sounds totally b i t c h y but too often I have come across horrible behaviour protected by the honourable behaviour and silence of others who do not like to expose them.

I rather thought it confirmed our initial protective nice person leap to defend the nikkster too. It has a the classic 'guilt' bit about how he waited, and how he thinks she feels a connection.....

Urge. There is a lot of pressure on men to get this right (under the right circumstances). Rule one, at least in the early stages do NoT presume to know how the woman feels. Yuckity yuck.

Tbh, I would rather have a nice straightforward 'wanna hook up for fxxxxxg?' . Honest and less manipulative.

I agree. Worded to suggest that you sent him the signals he wanted to see, so at worst you are not going to forward the email around because you wouldn't want others to think you had led him on. At best you reply. He has covered all bases. Even mentions "keeping in contact" so that he could bluff his way out with claiming he just wanted to be friends. : puke:

We have a 2.5 bed cottage. It is worth about £400k..maybe a bit more. Last year next door ..extended to 4 beds 3 baths (we could do this too) 'sold' for £585,000 in 2 days. Next door 'sell' every couple of years and never go through with it.

It almost, but not quite, motivated us to do something. If we ever move we need to either extend and sell or just come to terms with the fact taht someone else may treat this as a development opportunity and make some money where we could not be bothered.

Thanks lir :) I'll stop worrying now.

Its certainly not the most  email I've ever had. A (single!) friend from school once sent my pictures of his nether regions. I'm not sure what effect he thought it would have, but it wasn't very well received :rotfl:

Edit - years after we had left school so no issues with being under age I should add!
