Could you have a day going to something you like/would like to do...I know you have an interest in a two wheeled sport.

Generally I prefer doing things to owning things so things I have had are often 'holidays for the head' :

Tickets to exhibitions (Vermeer, Michealangelo,Opera, Concerts)
Courses - home decorating techniques, Flower arranging, chicken keeping (i am still rubbish at all of them)
    Spa/Massage- days & treats
    Chickens + chicken housing etc

On the gift front I often get:
Small things that would be meaningful to me: Pretty labels for jars, nice containers/tins, bath stuff that it is known I like & will use, salt scrub (Origins), shopping list type notepads.
Silk socks - I love silk socks. Preferred sock type. They do run to holes quite quickly though so new ones always welcome, Patara are the usual source.
Scarves/Wraps - Natural fibres - cotton, silk, cashmere - I also give these too if I am confident of colours/patterns that will be liked.
    Good belt for Jeans

    Bigger items
Some handbags -from OH - capacious/practical as I am not that girly either.
    Jeans - Levi's, M&S

I love my hideous patra silk turban. It's frightful looking, but it is a hair saver doing the horses. I should get another one really.

I worry silk socks would not stay up well. (Thinking about the natural wrinkle in a silk stocking as a comparison). Is this a false concern? I have an absolute hatred of socks wrinkling under my foot and usually wear knee socks to help prevent this. Socks wrinkle makes me shudder.

Who's that a quote from, NDG?
    3kg a week - you have to be a man. S'not fair (-:

I am 5 ft 7. My BMI is within the healthy range, but I know I am a bit overweight.

Sadly, I have quite a small frame for my height - I take after my Dad, who although just over 6 feet tall, only take size 8 shoes, and isn't big for his height.

My mother is 5 ft 8, and larger-framed than I am, she is slim and healthy at 11 stone, although currently lighter than this because of cancer / chemotherapy.

My next sister is 5 ft 7.5, just taller than I am, and 8 stone. She is very slim, and also smaller framed than I am.

8 stone is very slim for 5ft 7in. I'm that height, and I reckon 9st 7lb is about the weight I'm naturally supposed to be. I've been down to 7st 7lb, but that wasn't my intention, and happened at a bad time in my life for reasons I won't go into here. It wasn't healthy. I'm probably 10 and a half stone now (haven't weighed myself in years).

Nope....I do have my ears pierced but only wear ear rings once in a blue moon. Bracelets have never really floated my boat.

Bracelets have never floated my boat either, nor have rings. I do like necklaces and earrings, though, and wear them most days.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Yep, and how you entertain depends on where you live though, what we needed in London was different to what we want here. It's important to us as we develop the house, not least as much of our 'entertaining' will involve overnight stays for friends who live too far a day to do the trip in a day.

Reminder: Don't forget the play room!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Hmmm. Two recommendations. Worth thinking about then. I like cashmere socks in winter and tights.

I love the idea of googling from us. Are you interesting and varied almo?

50% is pretty darn good IMO.

Oooh I don't know. I'd love to think so but I imagine everyone would like to think that of themselves. I'm interestED in lots of things, though. It sounds a bit cheesy to say that you're all interesting and varied (and I did warn about brown nosing) but I do think I'd enjoy a good pub session with you lot.

Being prompted to google is one of my benchmarks for good TV. I've found many more TV programmes which prompt me to google things here than I did in Australia. That makes me sound like a total TV addict doesn't it? I might go back to lurking before this hole I've dug swallows me up completely.

Oh no, stay and chat :).

Pub....hmmm....I might suggest we go to the pub for a drink tomorrow.

Its not often I am proud of or pleased with my health, but I burnt my hand yesterday, a good inch long nasty thing on the element of the oven. This evening the 'open' bit is less than a cm. I might be broken in all sorts of ways but I still heal really quickly. :)
