Our lovely friend died this afternoon.
We said goodbye to her last night and I am glad for her that she is not in pain.
We were very lucky to have had her in our lives.
Very sad and I hope your DD is coping ok.
Think I must be in one of the current most snowiest part of the UK.
It isn't too bad right where I am but there were a few roads closed with accidents this morning. On the plus side, Morrisons was quiet when I was in and It was a good excuse to not do too much
Happy new NPT to all :j thanks Silvercar :T0 -
We are due to get slammed by snow in Herts tomorrow all the ssss. We've been relatively lucky until now, but it is due to start at 3am and snow heavily until late morning, followed by light snow until Sunday morning with temps zero or below so no thaw. Dreading tomorrow as I'm due to go to work. Forecast is for West/Central Herts. I think it's a little bit better further east. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I always think the press make too much of it. But then if you get caught in a traffic jam then it's a right PITA.
For me it was the driving very cold wind that was the problem. When I say problem I mean walking from Morrisons car park to Morrisons front door
Hoping for a good show from Kimi and Perez in the morning :beer:0 -
I agree re news making too much of it, but in West Herts we are on edge of Chilterns, so to go most places you either have to go up or down a hill and that's where it all starts going horribly wrong. I bought all weather tyres for my car a few months back and they have been a godsend. So much grippier than the old ones, which were not only Summer tyres but would have run out of legal tread by about now. DH has a set of winter rims and tyres which he puts on his car each year, but he has to get to Heathrow so it is more high stakes for him.
I'm hoping for an interesting Grand Prix and the best man winning. Which as you know, means anyone but Hamilton. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Winter tyres are a good idea.
They say a FWD car with winter tyres will perform better than a 4WD car with summer tyres.
The worst in the snow are BMW with their RWD. OH won't have another one for that reason.
Yeah, anyone but Hamilton as long as his name is an anagram of saloon0 -

We both have 4WD cars with winter tyres.
Although, given where we live and what we do for a living, it's absolutely necessary if you want to be sure of getting home.

Things I have learned today....
- 86 year old ladies that live several houses away do not like "banging tunes". And contrary to popular belief, they are not all deaf.
- Replacement brakes for my car are made of solid Gold. Or possibly something else equally valuable, such as Frankincense or Myrrh.
- Our new CEO is much cooler than I thought he was. And he has a sense of humour too.
All in all, a pretty good Friday, to wrap up what has felt until now like a week full of Mondays. (Other than the brakes thing.... That was most definitely taking the p1ss.)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
