If buying is going to wipe out your liquid assets and you're going to be running it as a business, I'd be inclined to get a mortgage for some of the purchase price. It allows you more diversification, it's tax efficient which mitigates the cost of the interest and anyway, banks are lending at little more than RPI which means that it's effectively free to borrow the money anyway.
Not all debt is bad. As a businesswoman you know that.
^^ This is spot on!
While the rates are low, we've moved from a (company) debt of £0 in 2008, to a company debt of £14m in the last public return (it's gone to about £16m this year), and in the same period, turnover has risen by 6600%, assets have risen by more than 6000%, and profit has risen by around 4000% (in 2008, we had t/o of £1.1m, profit of £116k, and assets worth £540k, as I've just checked).
Basically, we're more liquid than we've ever been.

Correct - I eventually realised the problem started when I got my most recent mobile which for some reason is much more magnetic than my old one was. Having discovered this I have been much better at keeping them in different pockets but obviouly at some point over the weekend I failed to do so.0

Random knock at the door, agent... to read the outside meter, just letting me know. Discussed the inspection with him and it'll be him, so I said "do you want to do that in 5 minutes instead?" so he did. Saved me a day's sorting out and stressing about it0

A very quick question please- how accurate is Zoopla? I'm starting to look at FTB properties and am tempted by one, however according to the Zoopla data on recently sold similar sized properties on the same road the asking price is laughably optimistic.I've never used Zoopla before- surely sellers know potential buyers will check it?!They are an EYESORES!!!!0

(Although no doubt the agents likes justify their astronomical fees based on the number of visits they have to make rather than just scheduling a single visit)I think....0 -

My suspicion...or hope...is that its more reliable in less randomised areas,..so rows of similar houses.
Here it's wide of the mark. Very.0
