Just had a phone call.... little old lady asking about the Spring Show dates.... I said "wrong number" and she said it was in the paper... and that she'd phone it again... and she did. During this gap I looked up my number and asked her what was in the paper..... my number.

Oh dear.... could get some annoying calls in the next few days/weeks/months (depending when this Spring thing is).

May be it is one of those serendipity things and now you need to get involved with the spring show...perhaps it links to your Etsy stuff?
    I think....

About a year ago we looked at a nice looking 'arts and crafts' style semi on what is a very nice (but not the best) road - it was a total wreck and on for 525 and we looked thinking if you could buy for 500 then there was a tidy profit to be made...

...well the other half of the semi is now for sale so Rightmove kindly showed what nearby properties had sold for and the one we looked at (offers aeound 525) had sold for 620...so the moral is I was able to spot a bargain price but obviously I wasn't the only one.

Now there is a house nearby for 575 - it has a small ground floor extension but I reckon if you knocked that down and played your cards right with the planners you might be able to fit a 3/4 bed detached on the garden leaving you with a house worth 450-500 and a second house worth 450-500 as well for about 200 outlay on top of the 575 purchase price - sadly though I haven't got the capital to take it on - anyone want to come in on the investment with me?

Doozer if you look in remind me to paste you a link as I would value your thoughts.
    I think....

I think it's a church flower show maybe.... as a name that sounded like a church was mentioned.

... add the words "church" with "show" - and a very old lady enquiring.... has to be flowers I bet.

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet.

"My dog's cross eyed, is there anything you can do for him?"
"Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him"
So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth.
Finally, he says "I'm going to have to put him down."
"What? Because he's cross eyed? "
    "No, because he's really heavy".

Memo to self, need to get out more!:naughty:

I actually dislike labels for music. Ideally, there are only 2 labels - good music and bad music. I'm using the term EDM loosely, including hip-hop, chill, trip hop, jazz, funk, soul & all sorts of dance music.

I'm getting very excited about going to see Ludovico Einaudi this weekend.:j

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

That's my feeling. Except I feel bad music's not even music really.

I think every genre of music's got gems and we need to keep our ears open. I mentioned a while back that some of the most uplifiting gigs I've gone to were ones where I accompanied mates to concerts they liked but I was unfamiliar with.

Joan Armatrading, Dr Hook, Eric Clapton, Simply Red, all surprised me.

I've gone on my own to see bands I like that I didn't have the confidence to recommend to others ( Blue Nile, Lloyd Cole -they're great by the way, but I never quite clocked how many other musiclovers liked them but there's absolutely loads) but I've dragged others to see bands like Devo and Deaf School that they ended up liking.

One of the best things I've done is ask friends to make compilations of the music they like to swap with me. It's very rewarding. That's how I got to hear of Einaudi. And lots more besides.

You're very well off for music where you live. Bibio and Scott Matthews hail from your area but I bet you know that already! Enjoy the concert, lj!:T

In Aus, houses connected to town water are all on meters so saving water is a priority, even at times like now when the drought has broken.

    We've got one of these:

    http://www.amazon.com/Evolve-Showerheads-SS-1002CP-SB-Water-Saving-Shower-Head/dp/B0017YXIKC

It's great. You turn your shower on hot and wonder off to get tea/use toilet/shout at the kids/make dinner. Normally you get back and the water is hot but loads of it has gone down the drain.

With this, once hot water starts coming through, it restricts the flow to a dribble until you come back and flick the lever back over. Brilliantly simple! It'll save us a mint.

I'm starting to get back into local bands, big concerts are still a way off but I will get there in the end!

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I never mix property development with friendship.

That and the fact I'm perpetually skint.
