How do you measure - is it external dimensions x number of storeys or are you supposed to size every room - what about stairs?

You don't do any of that - you notice it when you buy a place from the floorplan, and remember it (-:

It was mdf becoming midfield that got me - happy for you to use it to build shelves/cupboard - does anyone else find bookshelves always bow if you actually fill them with books rather than just adding the odd book and lots of photos/objets...

I am thinking CD racks, video cabinets and even DVD shelves are becoming obsolete and (I know we discussed it this afternoon) but maybe bookshelves will soon go the same way?

We had MDF shelves in our old flat, built just before we moved in and painted. I liked them, and despite books all over them, they didn't bow at all.

My Dad was saying something similar at Christmas. He reckoned Isaac would tell his grandchildren at future Christmasses that his grandparents' house had books all over the place, and how quaint that now seemed.....

Unfortunately the EA's particulars for my place say "floorplan coming soon", which doesn't help much.

According to http://www.freemaptools.com/area-calculator.htm the external dimensions of my house give about 128 sq m (1380 sq ft) for downstairs, and 87 sq m (935 sq ft) for upstairs, giving a total of 215 sq m (2315 sq ft) for the whole house. Internal dimensions would be smaller than that, of course.

I like it warm, and I know I spend more on gas than I should. I also have kids that never turn anything off. I'm paying about £1500pa for gas and electricity, but can't be bothered to look up how much is for each - the one direct debit covers both.

I aspire one day to have all the CDs, DVDs and videos in the right cases. Arranging them on the shelves isn't even on my radar. (NB, I do put them back in the boxes myself every time I use them. Sadly, not everybody living in this house does likewise. :o)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

So the vet came to do it. We chatted for a couple of hours. Old girl is still here, eating, yelling. And today, farting.

Yes, but I forgot. Then when someone was somewhere else and there was concern it was mentioned in strict confidence for retrieval purposes. I think you told a few people :D. I wouldn't have remembered were it not for the quoting though. Even then took a while.

Edit...I might only have known the first part originally btw. Cannot remember.
