Unlink tesco from avios. Save up your tesco vouchers and when tesco offer bonus time change over your accumulated vouchers.

Last year tesco had a promotion offering 900 avios for a £2.50 voucher instead of the usual 600 avios. If you had saved up your vouchers and changed the lot in one go you would have had 50% more!

Thank you. Though I fear that having shown my ignorance/inertia of the finer points of clubcard-dom, michaels will now put me on the iggy list.......

    We all learn from michaels.

I think it is not possible to have every avenue on every expenditure fully MSE'd.

I have a super efficient friend who has her whole ""eating out" life mapped to a fine T. Even to the extent on when to spend your costa points and when to wait to reap double point offers. Her phone is full of codes and apps that give free meal deals - then she tells me her utilities are with British Gas and the local electric company because she has never looked at that area

A little something for Mr jelly. I'm loving archive.org and found this little out of print number to satisfy his JTR itch:

    http://archive.org/stream/cihm_33789#page/n5/mode/2up

Hopefully can read it on his tablet and see what he thinks...

    OOOOhhhhhh! Lovely find Viva!
I believe it is this book:

I will try it this weekend & let you know...

    Big Thanks!:kisses3:

One reads ones architects' plans or 3d house survey map ;)

In all seriousness, I usually refer to the sales details of our house, which had them on. I'm not sure hey are right, but.....near enough.

One has architects plans but they don't include a square metre figure, one was trying not to draw the planners' attention to the total amount of extra space.

MDF is ok stuff. It does paint well ...agreed.

Yes the digital print ones. I bought 4 X 'fire'.:)

The most exciting delivery was the new bed from Warren Evans on half price. It's like sleeping on a hotel bed....I am really looking forward to going to bed ....it will be night no 4 in the new bed.

Our mattress was so lumpy and daggy. Last time we bought a mattress for here was 18 years ago I think. When we rented we had beds in the places but the last one we slept on the floor for a while then got the carved walnut bed from Ebay....DD has the mattress from that.

The walnut one has been sitting dismantled in the sun lounge since we moved back from Brighton. I think it's going to go to Margate.

I'm quoting this for one very specific reason, that I don't think anyone else will know.....:):):):):):):):):):)
Not meaning to be cryptic, but this is a public forum after all.

So, er,what is the bed like?

I am thinking CD racks, video cabinets and even DVD shelves are becoming obsolete and (I know we discussed it this afternoon) but maybe bookshelves will soon go the same way?

Not round my way they're not!
I have 5 bookcases. 2 are full, 2 half(ish) full. One of the bookcases does have my vinyl collection on it too.
    Then I have approx 5000 cd's:eek: & the obligatory box sets...:o

I have hardly any dvd's though...

Secretly slightly dreading unpacking the CDs as then we start the old discussion about how to organise them.

I think I've said before, but I'm boring. A-Z by artist, then chronological (albums, then singles if I have any). At the moment I have about 20 CDs here/ in car so they are just jumbled as its easy to look through them :)

    The way to start...:D
Compilations or collaborations? That's where it stars to get tricky....

    :rotfl:
    I have the following categories:
    EDM
    Non EDM/bands/solo artists
DJ mix albums (including the likes of late night tales etc...)
    Unmixed compilations
    Soundtracks/music scores
    Comedy & spoken word

Is it in Hi-Fidelity (yes I know carp men's chick-lit) where he arranges his albums in the order he acquired them which I think is a great idea...

    Possibly, or about a boy?
Not sure I'd agree that it is "carp mens chick lit" though...

I'd shelve the artists alphabetically by surname. Collaborations by the surname of the first named collaborator and have a separate section at the end for compilations which are alphabetically by title. That's how we do it in Library Land anyway.

Interesting idea. The issue that arises for me, is where there has been (imo) a greater input/influence by one particular colaborator. In which case I am likely to lump that with who I personally feel is the lead artist.

ETA: the hardest decision comes with classical CDs. Traditionally you'd put them in composer order, but now you have superstars singing excerpts from multiple composers, so your sequence could go Bach, Bocelli, Brahms... Maybe I should think in terms of date of acquisition too, though I can't remember what I bought 25 years ago.
Absolutely. I only have 1 classical album so far. The rest is stuff friends have put on flash drives for me as suggested listening.

I don't know if anyone else has a Shelfari shelf, but it portrays the books you've read in acquisition order. When you peruse shelves of your friends, you can definitely see when they are going through a phase!

    Sounds a fascinating idea!

Wow, NDG that's huge for a flat. I wouldn't mind guessing given the curtain description that the cubic metreage is even more impressive.

ETA: Spirit, you probably know this already, but there are 10.764 sq ft per sq m.

The ceilings are very high, certainly - between 11 feet (downstairs) and 13 feet (upstairs).

It is large for a flat, but not a massive mansion or anything. Downstairs we have a hall, 3 bedrooms, none very big - 2 are 13 ft x 12.5 ft, the other is a bit smaller. There is a tiny shower-and-loo room, and a large bathroom, and a utility room under the stairs with room for a washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs there is no hall or corridor, but a large-ish living room (about 12 x 18, I think), off that the semi-open plan kitchen, and 2 tiny studies, each with room for a desk, chair and some bookshelves.

As far as sq feet and sq metres are concerned, you pretty much divide or multiple by 10, which is quite accurate enough for me.

So our new flat is 50% bigger than our old one.

When my parents sold their London house last year, the estate agents reckoned it as 5,700 sq feet, excluding the garage.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
