I wish the rest of my mob would disappear for a week - I might be able to sort my hovel without them!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

The OH brought home a carload of the hoard from the remaining storage unit tonight, I managed to reduce three black bin liners down to one - hurrah! I've kept two pairs of cream curtains (one pair of which are in the wash, ready to go up in the spare room), a cream candlewick bedspread (I couldn't bear to get rid of it, sorry, but I'm still not sure if it will ever get used), and one cuddly toy.
There's another five carloads still in there, and I haven't had a chance to go through any of the boxes. Feeling overwhelmed tonight - yes we are in a nicer, bigger house, but it just means that even simple things like putting a load of washing on, or putting things away takes far more energy than it would have done in the old house. With a bad hip and a dodgy foot, it really takes it out of me. Sorry.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

GreyQueen.
I did bring photos but only on digital camera which are uploaded to the net book.
I share with parents and kids then upload a small amount to Facebook so they are stored by someone else. :T:T
I only have really special pics saved to two memory sticks (In case I lose one.)
This keeps it manageable.

Just stopping by to update where we are now.
Our house is now for sale :j, it has been on the market for a fortnight, and I have managed to keep it clean and clutter free so far.
I am still tackling the hoard though, everyday I challenge myself to fill a carrier bag of stuff to leave the house - today I have managed 2 bin bags and 1 carrier bag from just 2 kitchen cupboards :j
I find it more manageable to give myself small tasks each day than trying to do too much then giving up altogether.
I have convinced my DH to finally part with some books, and I have a charity shop coming to collect these and 4 other large bags of clothes and bric a brac tomorrow.
We have viewed a couple of properties and the one we really like is in a perfect location, but has very little storage. So I have even more motivation than ever to get rid of my junk, as I know I won't have any where to hide it in the (possible) new house :rotfl:Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

It's very quiet on here recently.
Probably due to everyone working hard to declutter:j
Me and my DD have just finished the cull in her room.:j:j
Out with 2 black sacks of clothes and one of shoes and bags for the rag man.:D
One carrier bag of rubbish in the bin.:)
One stacker box of text books to be handed onto a girl at work for her DD who is about to embark on the course mine has just finished!:T:T
One carrier bag of books for the "swap table" at work.:D
3 small wicker baskets with lids that contained screws, odd earrings and other assorted tat
Garden decluttered of weeds- half a wheely bin:j:j
Not bad going for a Saturday morning:)
Now all above mentioned stuff heading for a new home is stored in the understairs cupboard:rotfl::rotfl:
I suppose I shouldn't begin rejoicing till Monday when it all actually leaves the house.
Never mind. Off for a good wash and brush up as going to a wedding reception tonight.

Good evening everyone I have not posted for about 2 weeks as I just seem to have lost most of June somewhere (probably in among all the clutter). Whilst being AWOL I have managed to get some general cleaning done but nothing done in terms of sorting clutter. I am hoping that with the start on a new month I can make a refreshed start on getting the house and outside sorted. I have made a target plan so I will do my best to stick with it and delegate as much as needed to DH, since I should be taking it easy this month as baby is due 4th August but I need to get the house sorted out.
Today I made a meal plan for July using what is already in the freezer and cupboards, which will make the cupboards easier to organise. I have not got any decluttering planned for tomorrow, as I am going to have a relaxing day with DH and kids before hard work starts on Monday.0 -
Hi folks, I hope people are well, and managing to de-richard a bit.
I seem to be having a roller-coaster with this. One minute i'm all positive, the next drunk or in tears or both. I had total melt down friday, but this was after my last night shift and had had no sleep due to having to go to 2 banks th transfer money for house and sort the insurance, it was the insurance that tipped me over the edge as the wrong date had been put onto it. After phoning the wrong bank asking to speak to the guy I had just been talking to and screaming at the woman(i feel awful now), I eventually realised it was me at fault as loosing the plot and had phoned the wrong bank.
Anyhow, so friday and Saturday I just stared at it all. Today though i'm back onto sorting things.....i found 87 keys in one kitchen drawer, I have no clue what any of them are for. I have had to have 2 'maybe important' boxes, not for those keys, but for other things i'm finding at not sure if I need to keep them.
I have a Chinese laundry going so all towels, curtains, bedding clean and washed for the move, haven't thrown much out yet really, but am sorting the stuff I need to clean first, and boxed the really important things up like photos, pets, and stuff from my dads. The stuff towards the end will be the gritty 'throw it out' time I think.
I have cleaned and sorted the kitchen AGAIN, that seems never ending at the moment......oh hang on I did throw a load of kitchen junk out, I have yet to tackle the crazy amount of 'tupper-wear' type boxes.....there will be nearly 100 i'll bet. I mean really, what the he'll am I going to do with 100 boxes. I think I may be a bit more of a hoarder than I thought. I have a big Indian box with all sorts of different soaps, I don't use them, just look at them occasionally. I used to work in cosmetics and so collected perfume bottles and soaps/soap containers. In reality though what use are they? I guess they smell nice.
I shall hopefully do more tomorrow, as back at work Tues, the completion is friday but I can't even get the keys that day as at work, i'll have to go monday. I may get more enthusiasm then, and be less stressed. I shall report back next weekend, with hopefully the news that there have been no more melt downs and that things are progressing.
Good luck to those busy at it, or those staring at and thinking about it when it comes to it.!!Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Thank you.
They will, I have one more set of shifts then I have 10 days holiday to go wizzing up and down with things to the new place, once I have taken some stuff up I will be able to see the wood for the trees this end. This place is tiny so once you add boxes of stuff into it there is no room to turn round.
Thank you for your kind wishes. I will get there in the end, as will everyone here at some point.
I'm not sure where the melt down is coming from to be honest, I have moved several times and been fine, maybe too much happened over the last few months.
Onwards and upwards folks.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
