You'll need to be careful that you don't cat-flap the baby!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

What can I do with old pallets?
I have a number of pallets that building materials came on, and did not discard the pallets, as I thought it would be wasteful.
I don't wish to keep them, or make anything with them. Is there any organisation who might want them?0 -
I would have thought you could freecycle them, or ask the chaps at the recycling centre as they would probably know someone who'd use the pallets.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. pallets are good for making compost bins
Alternatively they are usually snapped up on freecycle. There are places that buy them back but you need to have lots of them.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

1 broken ladle.
today's entire effort. Children are still sick, working at home with them here just seems to explode mess and stuff, and boss wants to have a talk about my children's sicknesses and how "we" are going to deal with them in future: I've done 10.5 blinking hours of actual work today, weaving in serving food, wiping up spills, cuddling small people and throwing away a ladle in between stretches of work.there's no hope of me and the kids having a holiday this year, even a few days at home, because I can't spare the leave.
I'm really fed up, but fed up with one less broken kitchen thing I guess, and one less bit of a bottle of wine.

Well, I've returned from my holiday and as Whitewing states above, I binned all itinerary, receipts and other detrius that I had accumulated over 10 days before I left the hotel:j:j:j
I also took an almost empty bottle of shampoo and conditioner with me so left the tiny amount in the bottle and in the bin therefore saving the trip back from Spain.:D:D
The washing is almost done so the "holiday" clothes are going straight back in the case along with the sandals etc that are only used on holiday and they will be stored in the loft which frees up space in the wardrobes and drawers.:j:j:j
I was also very diciplined when away and "pre-decluttered".... By this I mean I looked at souveniers/ ornaments/ linens etc...
Said "Ooh! How lovely" and DIDN'T buy them:j:j:j:D:D:rotfl: That felt really good!!!!
I will continue to clear as I go and keep in touch here for inspiration:D:D

Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0 -
Pre-cluttering.
Love it! I've often noticed how many very obvious souvenirs end up in the charity shops and wondered if we couldn't eliminate some of the clutter by arranging international transfers of materials between various countries.
There could be a specific commodities exchange, trading plaster of Paris, plastic doofers, glitter, glue, sequins, tile paint, magnets for fridges, leather purses and belts and various other misc which seem to satisfy the urge to souvenir.
You may be either amused or alarmed to know that the first bottle of multicoloured layered sands from different beaches was a souvenir about 2,000 years ago. Shortly afterwards, a bored Greek schoolboy was made to pen the first ever What I did on My Holidays essay about the family trip across the Med to see the pyramids.
I bring strange things back from holidays such as; a shopping basket for my bicycle, a 2lb jar of honey, a cereal bowl, the collected works of Alan Bennett and other things too humerous to mention.
My goal these days is to return emptyhanded and preferably with no photographs. If there's trouble afoot I shall be maintaining plausible deniability and was never even in the country, yer honour, and I have the lack of souvenirs to prove it.
The honey was a fantastic souvenir; bought it in a plain jar from the farm gate, ate it and jar in recycling. Money into the local economy and no clutter around mine. Result!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
