If you're near me silvasava, the people at the Naomi House warehouse outside Winchester are lovely. And they seem to take everything... (bar child car seats, which they're not allowed to).0

Greenbee - Thanks for the reminder about Naomi House. Winchester is a bit far for me as I'm on the W.Sussex border but I think they have one in Waterlooville so I'll check it out for next timeSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Really must join this, really need to de-clutter, I hoard a bit and hate throwing things out. Reading what you folk do on here are spearing me on to get cracking.
Happy New Year to you all. :-)0 -
Right - not a declutter - yet, but moving in the right direction. Just spent about an hour photographing & composing descriptions & putting all the audio stuff on Gumtree. Will wait to the end of the month to see if anything goes & whatever is left will go on Freecycle!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Well done, Silvasava - which reminds me, my car is full of things to put on Ebay!
I've been astonished to see some things on Ebay this week; old cotton sheets in particular. It seems they do sell, if the price is right; I have an ottoman full of them (thanks to OH's aunt & my mother who had built up little hoards of their own) which is a LOT more than I'm ever likely to need. They wouldn't sell off my stalls, though the patterned 1970s ones go like hot cakes, so I'm thinking now to reduce the stock to what I am likely to need in the foreseeable future and sell the rest, and then the ottoman - a rather lovely Lloyd Loom one. The DDs may kick up a bit, but the house is full of "treasures" for them to inherit - TOO full.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Can't believe it - someone's coming over to buy the VHS recorder! I thought that would be the last to go!
I've also contacted a lady on Freecycle who wanted a greenhouse heater - I've got my mum's which I've never used & not likely to after 13 years so that's another item off the premises.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Woo hoo!!:beer::j:beer:Must use my stash up!0 -
KnitWitch - not too much of a celebration as I'd only asked for £10 for the player,but every little helps! I think I am more pleased that its a couple more items gone. I've also bagged up the Christmas cards that can't be used for tags to go to recycle or a charity if I can find one. Found a couple of spare bulbs for the tree lights so I'll have a go at them again - I'm determined to get them going!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Sadly I don't have anyone I could store things with silvasava so storage is the only real option.
It's so annoying being in a small house that has virtually no storage, especially for bigger boxes. Even our attic is a no-go as it's not boarded and the hatch is titchy (I can only just about fit through it!)
Really impressed that you've sold your VHS recorder - I have a working one I was thinking of getting rid of as I've finally updated all my fave films to DVD. I might try and sell it like you did!"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
It's funny we all hoard things (we think we need/want), then when we start going through the stuff again later ( weeks or even years) we find we don't really need it.
Bit of a roundabout really :rotfl:0
