My garage is full of junk and i'm going to sort through it tomorrow because i cant find my lawnmower which is in there somewhere :o
Same here ! OH put bits of wood for the logburner all over the place, even on top of the mower and I found a hen's nest behind the wood!

:) It's certainly the time of year to reclaim your mower. I spent 2 hours with grass shears yesterday reclaiming the grassy paths on my allotment and ache and have a blistered finger (cue pathetic bid for sympathy, lol). Own fault, should've worn gloves. Happy mower hunting!

The curtain project is pencilled in for the Bank Holiday weekend. I'm highly motivated as the new curtains are very attractive and I want more than one of them up on the rail (the rail is presently sporting one patterned and one plain curtain, which is droll). Just have to prioritise the allotment atm as weeds are going gangbusters.

Got absorbed in a thriller last night and read it from cover to cover so can drop that back at the library after work tomorrow. Got to keep them turning about; I read such a lot and have access to a big Central Library and lots of charity shops where books can be had at several for a £ so can very easily buy more than I can read.:o

I had to tidy up the flat on Thurs night for a visit by two strangers (long and unintersting story why) and was pleasantly surprised at how easily it turned around. It made me realise that I don't actually own all that much Stuff, it's just that my home is so silly-small that whatever it is gets right in your face and is very obvious.

    My day-to-day bad habits are;
    1. writing memos to myself and leaving them about in quantity on all surfaces.
    2. bringing in shopping or luggage from visits and only putting away the perishables, leaving other stuff sitting in bags on the floor.
    3. using my 3 seater sofa as a shelf, until it's barely a one-seater sofa.
    4. leaving the clothes airer up after the clothes have dried.
    5. dressing in the same few items as they come out of the airing cupboard, because I haven't put them away and thus haven't seen the other options.
    6. buying too much food of a perishable nature and not having it in the best of condition when I eat it.
:o Today, I have told myself that I am not allowed to go to the nearby supermarket at YS time as I have plenty of food and the freezer is rammed. I shall eat what I have already.

I'll be visiting a pal later today and returning an item to her and some stuff which I've put aside for her craft group (saved at her request).

I'm keeping up with the rounding-up and shredding of the notes to myself, I want to read a book in the next fortnight to get it to a relative who I think will enjoy reading it (and who can then re-donate it to the charity shop).

When I next visit with my family, I have several things which will leave the flat to go to them, and that's a happy thought. At the moment, I have them corralled in one bag to make sure they don't escape and roam about the place.

Righty, time for a cuppa and a bit more interwebulating, them must straighten this place out and head out for a few hours of fun in the sun - there are weeds up there who don't know what's about to hit them. :D

We have to declutter the garden today - it is a disgrace.

anirtak - Preloved & Gumtree are good sites to use to sell unwanted 'stuff' as you can post pictures and there's no charge to post or sell and you can leave it advertised for as long as it takes to sell. Usually bigger stuff goes locally so someone will pick it up.

hi, i think i will leave gumtree to my husband, i couldnt get on with it when i tried to use it, but he seems to always be trawling through looking at stuff and got a better understanding on how to use it. posting things is always a pain i find as sometimes when i find out how much its going ot cost to post it would cost more than im asking for the item, i did it wil some craft stuff before christmas, there was so much it was going to cost nearly £30 just to post. took a tenner off that tho when i took the books out, i knew they would weigh a bit but didnt actually expect they would cost that much. was a little shock to the system at the prices to post stuff as its been a while since i posted anything, usually bil visits other relatives that we dont see so he takes the kids gifts, and my step mother is blind and if i post anything to her she tells me to put one of her stickers on it so it doesnt cost me anything. anything else i normally take with me when i visit any one.
and preloved i looked on there and there didnt seem to be a lot to post for our area, being so out of the way sometimes is annoying but i like the quiet.
some days if im feeling stressed i stand out the kitchen and watch the sheep. dont know why but it often makes me feel calmer just standing there, maybe its what seems like their simplicity. but i actually feel sorry for them when its raining. witch is i shall say strange especially when i am one of them that likes to eat meat.

better finish acking my overnight bag, going to my nans tonight hospital appointment in the morning and id rather leave tonight than 6 in the morning to get there on time especially as its around rush hour i would be doing most of the driving.

Lots of deweeding done and it looks so much better.

I am making the tomato casserole tonight. I still can't imagine it as anything other than a lump of meat sitting in tomato soup so I am looking forward to seeing if it does magically transform itself into an actual casserole. My peppers had started to go wrong in the fridge.

Back after a bit of absence, I had been on holiday and then it was catch-up with various things.
We've talked on here about fantasy me's and how often we have stuff for the fantasy side of ourselves, but we never actually put that side into action.
So for example, someone with a fantasy crafting life may buy bags of craft stuff that sits unused. Someone who was size 12 at age 25 may be holding on to those clothes aged 40 and size 16 as they will be able to get in to them.. when they diet. (Or they will buy clothes sized 12 for that post-diet fantasy person).
Well, one of my fantasy me's left the house yesterday in the shape of a beautiful Drizabone coat, full length and weighing an expletive ton. I'd bought it to go racing in when I had a share in a syndicate horse, and to keep dry when cycling.
The horse got injured and his replacements - that I actually part-own - don't go into training until next year.
The coat was so long it caught in the bike chain.
It was so heavy that it made me think twice about wearing it when walking, especially with my arthritis.
So my daughter has it now, as she needed a really waterproof coat for walking the dogs, and at 6'1'' finding suitable coats in ladieswear was near-impossible.
I meanwhile, have far more space in the wardrobe and a more lightweight coat on order, paid for with Am@zon birthday vouchers.

It looks like it will be perfect for cycling, walking ...... and o.k. to go racing in next year.

Realised that because we had been away the wheelie bin was empty so have been walking round with a carrier bag picking bits and bobs up to throw away. With OH being in bed a lot theres always juice bottles lingering and magazines, bits of paper so coralled them all and got rid. It feels good to get rid :j

Working on bookshelves again to clear them and lots of projects nearly finished so space will come when they are delivered to new owners.

Recycling nearly all out ready for Tuesday, just a few more holiday magazines to chuck or pass on.

Best go and sleep now after I have made tomorrows list of things to do, sleep has eluded me for 4 nights now so you would think I would crash out  crossing fingers as my batteries are running low now.

    Weeds have gone for composting.

3 loads of dry clothes/bedding put away last night and dishwasher unpacked.

1 load of wet-bed bedding in the wash which DH will put out later (I hope).

Went through my bag and shredded some stuff, filed others.

DH will also hopefully vacuum when he gets back.

Oh, and I sorted out about 6 books for CSing but then I started to reread two of them so that wasn't so successful.

Look - I just saw a baby crane. (Home is important).

been poorly for a couple of weeks so no decluttering...minor op needed but better now and getting back to it :)

OH is now in his flat (we are getting divorced eventually) after spending 7 weeks on my sofa while he saved the money for the deposit! Just me and DS at home now so time to crack on. OH took a load of his stuff yesterday including a load of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cutlery and crockery and some furniture - a dining table and chair, shelf unit, dvd unit, his dvds, an electric heater and some books but there is still more to go. (imagine the scale of my clutter if he can furnish his flat and still leave me with everything i need!)

debating whether to get a tassimo coffee maker and give him my old filter machine but not sure if its just another kitchen gadget i will use for a month then leave to gather dust.

thrown out some old flat cushions, a lot of old magazines and general paperwork i don't need.

Some Daily Fail CDs/DVDs and a magnetic alphabet tub, books, jigsaws and board games to charity.
