    :) Evening all.

Am making effort to catch up at home after archery. Have only just finished supper but took time to have a proper cooked meal. My limited energy plummets if I don't eat my greens.

Place is at sixes-and-sevens, projects everywhere, and will be full-on working tomorrow. Have a cunning plan to tackle t'Co Op and have made myself a crib sheet of info inc account references and logs of calls and will be ringing them as soon as their lines open.

If they still say they haven't got that gas reading from late Feb, I shall offer them the choice of escalating my call to a supervisior, to see if we can't get this dealt with without going thru a formal complaints procedure. If they're anything like my own employer, they'll move mountains to avoid all the extra work a formal complaint entails.

By gum, I'm an intelligent and able woman, with a background in admin and customer service, very articulate and very good on the phones, and even I find getting things done properly is still sometimes an uphill task. I can perfectly understand why some people choose to stay with the devil they know..............

If I hit the ground running when their lines open, I may be able to get this done before I leave for work, otherwise it'll be something to look forward to afterwards, lol.

The trouble with all this stuff is that it needs to be done but it ultimately eats away at the time you have to spend on other things both necessary and pleasurably un-necessary.

Ach well, time to head offline to rest my eyes before bed. Laters, GQ xx

i think im like a stone picking up speed as im running down a hill :rotfl:

so tonight, i have more or less sorted most of what i needed to do. have sold the 2 double wardrobes, and the double bed frame.

the the wardrobes are being picked up on thursday so thats more space. and the bed tomorrow. i can take my computer desk apart store it and hopefully start decorating in there. :j

money im getting from wardrobes and bed, wont be much but i just thought cheap price would get rid quickly. so money going to go on paint. if i say i will wait till the end of the month will end up spending it on necesaties like food lol, so wanna spend it on what i intend for it to be spent on before that happens.

1 room almost down 3 and a bit to go lol.

oh and theres a local table top sale on saturday and im gonna take everything i got in the sell pile and get rid of it, hopefully, if i ask small enough prices it should hopefully go and will at least cover the price of the table.

hi one suggestion i have is if you know someone who can sew, or if you can do it, can be time consuming doing it by hand, but well worth it in the end. a memory quilt is a good keepsake for old clothes. and come sin handy and can also be passed on. a 50" x50" one makes a good lap quilt while watching tv. or as i do, i make aload of squares then go and lay them out on my bed to make sure it will fit and decide on layout. can either get some wadding for the centre, or have a thin one and just put a back on it, again the clothes can be used so you can have it go either way.
and if theres anything left over, matching pillow cases or pillow covers

not sure if these links will work

    normal quilt with bought fabrics

this one i made form all my nieces clothes

did do another one for a friend but i didnt get a pic of that one. and im planning on using my gramps clothes to make a lap quilt for my nan. and one for me if theres enough left over :)
Whatever you're on anirtak, please can I have some!

Anirtak you are doing brilliantly :j.Go you !!
I know what you mean about getting your head on!!I originally posted on this thread a few months ago, asking "where do I start? How do you all do it?" Now I am a woman possessed, much to my family's infuriation,I am sure :p.

While the kids were at school yesterday and today,I have cleaned the whole house:kitchen, dining room, front room, hallway, top landing and stairs,3 bedrooms and bathroom. Also washed,line-dried and PUT AWAY lots of loads of washing. Now I still have Thursday and most of tomorrow off.Satisfied the house is clean,I would now like to move abit more stuff out.I have stuff in the loft waiting to go to charity, and lately,day-to-day I will spy something (games and toys, mostly) and think "that will never be missed if I donate/throw/sell" it,so I will declutter a few of those items.Might even sort out my kitchen cupboard which is over-run with plastics of all shapes and sizes, plus (mostly) maching lids.

Actually, what I dream of,is having reached this point of tidiness, and it staying like it for a few days so I can concentrate on decluttering all the stuff that "hides" in cupboards,in wicker baskets on kitchen cupboards. And the "little messes" that seem to accumulate.Unfortunately, the tidiness doesn't stay cos I've got 5 children.Oh,no,wait-4 children and one messy/hoarding partner.Yes,that's it.No,just 4.:rotfl:

As well as all over clean, today I also decluttered the top of son's chest of drawers. You may remember in the holidays I pulled out all his underbed storage and sorted that, then his bedside table.Today I decluttered, polished and sorted top of COD's.Not a big job, really, considering about a third of the surface area is covered with a tank of African land snails .

Sometimes my "little messes" aren't even that messy. But I still want them gone. For example,in my at-the-moment-tidy bedroom, sitting on the floor near the head of the bed,has been about 5-6 books:2 paperbacks given me at Christmas,2-3 library books, and a scrapbooking album given by my daughter. Now,it has never really bothered me,but it is those types of "gatherings" of items that can start to make my over-crowded house place look either lived-in,or cluttered. And I am aiming for minimalist :D.
So,I put mine and the library's books in my bedroom window, where I keep my other books, and the scrapbooking album in my scrapbooking trolley-thingy,out of sight.Ta-da:like magic.Freed up about a square foot of space.I always seem to see things sitting around, and think "wish I had somewhere to put it".Need to start thinking harder.Of course, when I go to return my library books in a few weeks time,I will be cursing the fact that they are camouflaged somewhere, racking up lots of fines because I can't find them :rotfl:.

Everyone is doing so well, thank you all again for everyone's inspiration :T

saver upper, i know what you mean about putting something away and its just disapeared like magic freeing up space.
over the last week or so, i have been pulling this out from there, and that from there etc etc etc, and my husbands looking around going where the h*ll are you hiding all this stuff, your like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat.
now hes just put it down to me being good at hiding things, especially when i ive brought things back off family that they were getting rid of.
have a habit of going what you throwing that out for looks new, usually if my nans involved it is. so i bring it back and hide it planning on doing a bootsale or something then never managing to go to one or feeling quite up to doing one.
actually if its a nice day tomorrow, i might go round to the garage and see if theres anything in there still that i can take to the tabletop sale on saturday. used to have a fair bit round there cant remember if its been cleared out or sorted or anything. hubby has kept on about doing it but not sure if he has. probably same scenario as the shed, next good day will go and sort it out, and never gets round to it lol

gonna try and get some sleep if i can, still feel wide awake.
    night all

:) Hi, there's already lots of good suggestions but in case some stuff isn't going to be crafted into a memento, you want to donate it to the charity shop, but are concerned about the potential upset of seeing her clothes being worn by someone else..........

With chain charity shops, you can specify when you hand them over that you would like to have them taken to another town. I've known people to do this with the belonging of a relative and they shop didn't bat an eyelid and were very kind and respectful. I think it's something which must happen a fair amount of the time. HTH.

My bunny died last night.. :( ... So now I have to rehome his cage and food stuffs which will free up a massive part of my house.. I am also going on a mission in 5 minutes to empty my understair cupboard, rehome the contents (I already have a taker) and then get my unused pushchairs hidden away in there..

A sad sad job of removing the cage but needs must! I can then decorate the room.. which just makes me more sad.. I feel like I've been waiting for him to die so I could do this.. so I have mixed emotions... :(
