I think I may of been here before!
On a serious mission to sort my house/garden out. Have now become a full time carer for my son, rather than battling to work and do it all single handed. He has been back at school for 2 days and I have been catching up on calls etc.
I'm making it a mission to hoover every day (Dog and cats) and have got rid of a lot of fur and dust so far. Been doing lots of therapeutic baking and small bits and bobs around the house. Cleaned out the rabbit, cleaned the bathroom, and put one pair of tracksuit bottoms in the bag for the charity shop.
Long term plan is to try and sell a lot of my old toot. Finances will be tight(er) from now on.
Currently have a room (The white room!) that is full of junk and want to turn that into a study/office.
So hello everyone. Looking forward to jumping back on the de hoarding wagon and seeing where it takes me!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Well, it's time to admit that the state we are in is not just down to lack of time and energy. For days now I have been at home and every time I went into our bathroom I looked at the empty loo rolls, shampoo & body gel bottles, empty toothpaste tubes etc. and couldn't bring myself to throw them away (although some had got as far as being coralled in a plastic bag several months ago ready to go in the bin).:eek:
At least admitting the problem seems to have helped and thay are now in the bin along with a fair bit of stuff from the kitchen. I must keep repeating "I am hoarder and it is not normal";).

Awwwww......i'm loving the little pink and white hat/scalf/bobble oufit.
Just popped in for a quick rekkie, still going 100 miles an hour here to get place nice for sat..people keep turning up! Typical, when you are busy, days I'm doing nothing they don't. Only got round to bathroom this morning. All food got......WAY too much as per usual, only around 13 people coming, and if they do this weather and I have enough to feed about 30 plus. Barbecue off due to diabolical weather and now at coast so i'm in a flipping wind storm. Upshot is not enough fridge space for food but conservatory so cold is like a huge fridge.
Anyhow I hope everyone is doing well, and i'm off to sort more stuff to 'hide' in the pink room for the weekend.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

You would be surprised how many people do hoard, some have it all over the place and some are very orderly and can hide it well. Before I moved I was in the 'orderly' group, people can't believe my new place has so much and I came from a 1 bed flat, and all friends used to get me to do their hols packing as I can get an amazing amount into a small space.
When it impacts on your life and everday living is where it goes wrong, most people I know have loads of 'stuff/things', and to be honest some of these things can come in handy, and for me it's what makes them interesting people too. It's when we collect useless paperwork/loo-rolls/clothes/whatever, that it's good to have a clear-out.
I don't think we are that abnormal really (and I see this all the time in my job). Think of yourself as interesting....looking to be more objective about what you need, and a work in progress.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D.......
