Today I put all the clothes away in spare bedroom, cleared kipple (I think that's the word) in the back room ( 2 months worth), and did a 15 minuter on the bathroom cupboard.
I brought 2 books boxes down to start to sort before bed.
I am so pleased I posted on here.
calicocat - thanks for the tips - flylady and sloblady! I am having a 5 minute peek now0 -
At work at the moment so not much time ....what's kipple?
Lobbyludd , the washing putting away is one of my big hurdles too , and i have no idea why like you as it takes minutes. It's like walking past something on the stairs instaed of picking it up and taking it with you......why?!!!!...maybe as you said , its the whole boringness of it.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

You put washing away?
I just pick the dry washing off the airers.
I've been doing it wrong, haven't I? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I've been doing it wrong, haven't I?You and me both, doll.
Just picked a shirt off the airer to iron, it's now cooling on a hanger and will be worn to work. Some of the other clothes on the airer will be worn today as well. You can almost always avoid actually putting away laundry if you're cunning enough.
Heck, I grabbed my jammies off the airer on the same day as I did the wash, and back on my person for bedtime.
I read a very funny pithy little letter from a bloke in The Guardian years ago. It was a response to a big lifestyle feature the previous week. He remarked that most people's winter wardrobe is exactly the same as their summer wardrobe; whatever has just come thru the wash (plus a fleece).
Trying to save myself time on after-work errands by making a to-do list of events in the most sensible order to do them. This must be that thang called organisation, I reckon.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning all
I usually get my stuff of the airer too but for a second day running I have ironed and put it away. I'm sure this will stop once I return to work.
My summer and winter wardrobe are the same too. I have read a few threads OS about packing away the winter/summer wardrobe and storing it. I wish, if I keep throwing things away at this rate I will be wandering around in the nip.
I have found that setting the correct scene helps with the de-cluttering so on with the right music and off I go.
I have 11 items for the charity shop and three items to be cut up into dusters (something I don't hoard funnily enough). Plus a load of old make up brushes for work for the students to apply dye with.
I have thrown away a load of kipple (I love this word). I think I find the fluff and clutter the hardest to deal with.
Off swimming soon but will continue upon my return.

I have a major, I mean MAJOR triumph to report. Some posters may remember my sideboard? Been trying to sell it for months (finally sold the matching dining table 2 months ago). It was on it's last eBay attempt last week and I was fully expecting to be ringing the charity shop yesterday - but it sold! On it's 5(ish) attempt! And the guy came and collected it last night! I almost skipped out of the door with it I was so happy
So now I can finally paint the wall behind the old sideboard, and once we've got the floor done (manky old carpet up and original floorboards resanded), I can look into getting a new, smaller sideboard. Can you tell I'm happy?Even if the rest of the house is a tip...
Hello to any newbies I've missed! This thread is a godsend for me so I hope you find it useful "Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0
