:j Dunnit!! :j
The desk has just three pieces that need sawing, everything else has been rearranged and there are two piles of stuff to go out the door.
One to colleagues and one to the CS. Again, just stationery - files and a few bits and bobs my colleagues might find useful.
The room looks much lighter without the huge black hulk of a desk and there's floor space as well!! That makes a huge difference.
Down side - there's a 4 inch high pile of A4 paper to shred. My little shredder won't cope.
I might have to bite the bullet and get around to buying a new one.
Cue the internal argument - but this one works, not that well, but if you're careful with it and stick it in the 'fridge when it overheats it'll be fine, it's not fine if you have to stick it in a 'fridge, it works, no it doesn't, yes it works, okay it works kinda, and how would you get rid of it - the tip doesn't take pedestrians.
I'll throw it away. Promise. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Throw it away NOW and then buy a new one! Or is that just a bit too radical? Seriously, if it's overheating, get rid of it, paper and heat don't mix well, and we don't want anything happening to you, Gingernutty.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

Today I got rid of two carrier bags which had some school stuff DS grown out of, a couple of mums scarves I decided I didn't need to keep, some old PJs that keep falling down - will be ok for someone, just not me and a book where I read the prologue, then the end (she dies) decided I didn't need to read the other 600+ pages so donated it
Don't tell DS but it also had two unopened DVDs he gave me for Mother's Day, that for some reason I just didn't want to watch
All gone anyhowI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Not to worry MrsAtobe, when it overheats it cuts out and stops. Quite often with a sheet or two of paper half way through. It does it frequently though. Too frequently for my liking. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Anyone seen roundtuit lately? Hope all is well with her.
Awwww Someone was thinking about me....thank you
I am still here - buried under all this stuff. My mind has been on other things - such as getting another job. Which I've done :T and I start on Wednesday eeek:eek: so now the black dog has his old friend 'hi-anxiety' to play with (especially active in the wee small hours). I have had physio on my shoulder which has helped immensely, but I fell out the back door last week :owhich set me back a bit.
But I'm here, battle scarred and weary, and ready to tackle some 'stuff' this weekend. I'll report my progress on here - I find that motivates me to do more.
Hey ho Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.
See you tomorrow with a progress report

I think some of my trouble is attributable to waiting for the perfect conjunction of free time, good energy and the will to do X, Y or Z. And do you know what? They very seldom happen all at once, and if they do, there are several things vying for my attention all at once.
And doesn't the sun have to be in Aquarius with a full moon in Virgo? I'm sure I read that somewhere :rotfl:

:T Well done on the new job, roundtuit, and thanks for checking in with the gang. When one of us disappears there's always the possibility they might have got so buried under clutter that they couldn't reach their computer and we might be needing to send help.
I'm getting tired and read your post as that you had a physio ON your shoulder, which gave me a mental flash of a miniature one squatted there like a parrot or something.
Ahem. Haven't had enough sleep this week and really need to put the pooter to bed or I won't rest later.
Have a good evening, all, and if you haven't decluttered it by now, it's too late and you have to goof off until tomorrow, minimum. Laters, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

YAY on new job roundtuit! my depression and anxiety often go hand in hand, so know how that feels - it's not a good combination! but you will get through it and excel
house is "on the surface" tidy-ish, and my room is mostly devoid of children's things. This will not last as the chaos-kid and destructo-girl are back, and grandparents staying for the weekend so no dehoarding for the next few days.
However, as my mum and step-dad like to be useful, I think I may set a few mending/diy tasks for them to help me with over the next few days. Otherwise useful can turn into doing things in their way without being asked that end up making work for me.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
Haven't quite got around to lots on my plan so far.....seem to have been stopped by a few things, plus my own avoidance to get going with things. Did take all rubbish out of the car so that good, but it's now in bags in the lounge. Have cleaned my bedroom with new 'up stairs kit'...this definitely works for me as having to go up and down for stuff means I end up not doing it as get distracted or put it off, as I am rather a lazy hound I think. Have tidied more of the dining room so it now looks much more like an actual room. Had two joiners out to price cupboards etc in dining room. Ended up last night chatting on the phone instead of doing stuff, then mooching on other areas on here, then the downstairs lights blew so had to work out new fuse box system, then go to several shops to buy new fuse but none had any......what a faff on!. anyhow found some this morning. Did do a Chinese laundry thing so have all that to put away before monday.
Plans I had for today will possibly not go quite as planned as have a cooking head on so now cooking up vats of spag-bol sauce and will do a vat of beef stew too for the freezer, getting sick of chicken salad which I feel I have lived on for the last month other than Chinese takeaway.
I must sort out paperwork for this place over next few days, have no real clue where all solicitor, mortgage, insurance stuff is and it's bothering me now. May get it all out and do whilst watching some tv, have lots recorded and a friend says the Mill is really good. Sunday-type tv,comfort food, and slow ploughing through of papers.
My shredder cuts out too....all the time, really annoying as takes ages to do it as you are sitting waiting for it to cool down all the time. We have confidential paper waste at work thinking about it that goes off to big shredder .....i'm thinking I could maybe sneak some of my stuff in it.
Hope you are feeling better today Roundtuit.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Mornings everyone
I have been out this morning, but wanted to be in throwing stuff away.:rotfl: what is happening to me.
I have a big pile of coats on the hooks in the hall which need sorting so I'm going to do that first. Later I'm going to sort out my wardrobe and draws. I have so much rubbish but have to be careful as I have very few clothes which is ironic as I'm a dressmaker with a huge stash of fabric.
The one thing I'm struggling with is getting rid of the little ones clothes. I always intended to sell them to make some cash for more but since he was born I have got rid of 2 things. I have a very large suitcase stuffed with the small stuff and his draws are rammed full. A friend suggested taking photos before getting rid but I'm still struggling. I didn't used to be so sentimental and being honest I would like to fill them again but it was difficult the first time and at 42 the chances of success are getting smaller.
Later more bathroom decorating. I prefer doing this later in the day ( I don't know why) and sorting of the old toiletries. I did throw out 5 things last week though.
To be honest I can't see much being done over the weekend as DH is here and gets under my feet. Roll on Monday when he is back at work.:rotfl:
