Big pat on the back!!!
I never previously had a problem with jam jars.. (now i am decluttering i am so much better in many areas but this is a something new!) i have become very fond of jam jars  its started with the french one with the red chequered lid which was great for the 'kitty kitty' (for pets emergency fund,) then a matching one started the 2 pound holiday/treat jar. Then a third for xmas saves created a nice trio. Then i discovered they are all the same size and fit very nicely into a shoe box .....which could hold another 3
Seriously big pat on the back for chucking yours .
Some of the M&S jars are nice, I had a bit of a thing about them for quite a while, and would have had a huge problem throwing one out. I did though, and am now thinking that they would have been handy for the shed to keep all the nails and screws and stuff that i'll likely never use.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Thanks Gingernutty if that was you re:the email problem this morning. I'm never sure if there are several people with the same name as I recall some people having an argument about having the same one a while ago.
Um....   Sorry, I don't PM people. That wasn't me, whatever happened earlier.Could I have a small pat on the back today, please? I managed to recycle a jam jar, even though it had a pretty fruit printed lid. There will surely be those amongst us who know what a triumph of will over habit that was.
Laters, GQ xxBig pat on the back!!!

Consider yourself patted GreyQueen, but, honestly, I've never understood the jam jar thing as a 'thing' before I started posting here.
I didn't know there could be jam jar connisseurs.......:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Another carload of privet taken to the local tip tonight. The tat man didn't take my thing on wheels from outside the house so that was put into the car and thrown away too. I did think when he took the other things and not that it would have to go back into the cellar. What was I thinking. I feel so good about throwing it.
A few tears were also de-cluttered tonight. I feel so bad that my home is in this state and worry about getting it sorted before my little one brings friends home. He's only 2 so I think I have a bit of time yet.:o

Anyone who thinks they are alone, have a wee snoop on the housing board, the 'have a look at these' thread, one posted just a couple of days ago I think. Fascinating, and I bet they had tidied up for the photos!! We are not alone.
Are you, by any chance, referring to this classic? :eek:I don't usually post in her but sometime pop in for a quick peek, but today I came across this one and thought it ideal for this thread

You will get there. Years ago I got myself into a bit of debt, not loads to be honest, but it's just not something I can feel comfortable with, you are right it is draining, but you will sort that out too in time, and when you do the freedom-feel is great, plus you feel so much more in control. It takes time and real effort but you will feel miles better once you have achieved that goal. If it makes you feel any better it took me years to clear my Russel and Bromley card alone, I really got stuck with it, although looking back I should have cleared that first. I hope you manage to get a handle on this soon and see little ways forward with it as it does weigh a person down.
You have done loads with the privet though so good job....and you could give yourself a bit of time out and breathing space if the
bambino is only 2 you have plenty of time.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Ohhhhh yes! I remember. I work occasional night shifts and have rampant insomnia. I occasionally potter about t'internet with my headphones on at stupid o'clock some mornings.
I'd just finished stitching my denim coat and was disappointed to see it looked like a not particularly funky lab coat. It needs more work.
I've bought a filing cabinet from BHF, it's being delivered tomorrow (any time between 8am and 5pm ) so I'm sorting out getting the desk out, shoving the foldable table where the desk is and setting myself up for a major shredfest tomorrow.
The desk is one of those black ash, flat pack things from Argos from way back in the early nineties. It's big, black, hideous and the rolling tray for the keyboard doesn't work. I'm going to break and saw it up into pieces so that I can get rid in stages.
I'm 'looking after' the next door neighbour's bins while he's looking for a new tenant, so I should be able to get rid of the desk in a couple of weeks. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I work nights too, and have as yet to fall asleep despite no sleep today really, I think I have gone into over tired hyper-mode. Have sorted papers (a bit) , bit disappointing as must have done lots months ago so it hasn't really freed up any space. Have rigged up stereo (look out folks) and moved all cds on a unit with it...resisted urge to fanny about and listen to loads I haven't heard in ages. have done 2 loads of washing, one on airer, but god knows how long it will be on there. Got batteries for smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm...much to Asbo cats annoyance as house was screaming for a while, not sure if they are working properly still, will sort later.
A few duvet sets sitting on lounge floor....have been thinking and looking at them, I don't like them, but keep thinking would they do for the once a year I go camping to a festival....or be useful for painting sheets when paint vile 'pink' room. I should throw them out I should throw them out.
Have just got back from asda, have got more cleaning stuff (I need to watch that as I now have loads) . Anyhow, have got these little basket type things to have cleaning 'kits' so to speak. This means I can put all into said baskets and go from room to room with it instead of leaving bottles all over in all rooms. I have a downstairs kit and an upstairs kit, as to be honest this going up and down them all the time is wearing thin....i've been used to a flat for the last 10 years.!! stairs aren't all they are cracked up to be.
Well I don't seem to be tired yet so will trot off and do something else.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Is it acceptable to throw an old video machine in my bin? If I leave it lying around it will still be here in weeks time, and not going to the tip as still in pj's after night shift sleep. The ideal would just be to fling it right now, but not sure if it's allowed for a start these days.0
