Thanks for your help. Ive just seen this phone which looks a good deal.

iPhones are easy to use, but they're expensive and tbh not worth the money. Especially the iPhone 4 which came out in 2010... Plus Apple lock you into a system where you have to use iTunes for everything, so you have to register your credit card details with them + apps cost money + it's hard to transfer stuff off an iPhone. Also iPhones only come with one year warranty unlike EVERY other phone which comes with 2 years warranty.
Wouldn't recommend it to be honest with you. And tbh i wouldn't recommend cashback deals via third parties unless you want to fill out forms every 3 months just to get the cashback which might not even go through.
You know the V you posted earlier. That's pretty much same spec as an iPhone 4. The V was £15pm, the iPhone is £22pm... doesn't make sense paying more for the same, or less in the case of the S2.0 -
I will personally recommend that you buy the phone upfront paying all the money right away rather than giving it in Emi, later you can sell the phone on craigslist or some site.0

why is that then?
I did do an order online with Tesco for the Samsung 11. they have to do credit checks before they send the phone so time to cancel. I really should have gone into the shop and had a test of some phones I suppose. IM wondering if the Samsung one is bulky.0 -
Not bulky but quite large. My fella said he'd have to stop smoking when he got it as there wasn't enough room for his baccy and his phone in his pocket :rotfl: The SII is a very nice phone and I don't think you'll be disappointed4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Definitely a monthly contract suits better if you call more often, plus you can get some awesome deals..0

I don't make many calls but you never know. even not using the phone that much the minutes are probably more than I think they are.0

The thing is that the phone (S2) is worth £250 to buy outright brand new. (OFC you can get it cheaper used) But if the OP was then to go on a sim only or pay as you go package he'd be looking at around £10-£15pm.
So lets say for example the OP does pay £12.50pm every month to get the same deal as the one above on a sim/payg package that would equate to £300 over 2 years + £250 for the phone = £550.
On this deal he's just paying £17.50pm = £420 over 2 years. So it does work out cheaper in this case. Plus the OP has a surplus of minutes and data (plus he can cap the account) so it's unlikely he'll ever go out of allowance or pay more than that £17.50.0 -
Its an expensive phone then. I suppose another thing I have to do after the credit check is to insure it.0

this offer just came up on an advert on FB. How can they give away laptops and acers as a free gift with the phone. Is this a real deal?0 -
You don't need to spend lots of money on expensive "must have" phones or inflexible contracts.
Nice smartphones can be had for almost nothing these days. See for example:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4333851
On PAYG (ie flexible, low risk, low stress) you can get 150 minutes, 150 texts and 400mb free each month.
Not having a super-expensive contract phone means that your phone is not making you a magnet for thieves and muggers, so you don't need expensive insurance (which often excludes theft anyway).
If you pay £0 per month, you can enjoy your smartphone and spend your hard-earned cash on something nice like a holiday.:beer:0
