My nearest FF is 11 miles away in Gravesend Is it worth the trip do you think maybe once every two months with my DD as she is struggling at the moment with four strapping lads to feed with bottomless pits instead of tummys:):) I don't mind driving her there as I have a diesel car so the fuel isn't a problem I have never been to one before and wondered if you really do save money

That she doesn't she makes sure they have a proper meat and two veg meal in the evening and the boys only get Mccyds as (for them) a treat on their birthday lunch:):) with four lads she just nver has given them much in the way of pre-prepared food as she finds its just too expensive to buy ready-meals for them.I stayed to dinner last night and we had roast chicken, potatoes brocolli, garden peas, chipolata sausages and yorkshire pud. This roast clucker (the left overs from the bird will be made into a chicken and leek pie for their dinner tonight) is their normal Wednesday night and thursday evening meal. The lads have a packed lunch for school and a cooke dinner at night. As I look after them before and after school I usually do the prep. for the evening meal and both her and her OH work full time. I was thinking perhaps the basic dried good maybe a bit more inexpensive than the big supermarkets thats all
By the way we have a Family Bargains not too far away and they have 2lb bags of Tate & Lyle's sugar for 63p a bag at the moment (no good for me as I don't have sugar0 -

That's a little bit unfair, Farmfoods do lots of food that isn't heavily processed. I recently bought 2 very large bags of frozen fish for £6 which are absolutely lovely and have made the best fish pie ever. The prices on things like frozen peas, sweetcorn etc is a good price and they do very large packs of frozen stew veg for £1, I find it cheaper to buy these as by the time you have bought swede, carrots, onions etc it adds up to more than £1.
We always buy our milk and bread there as you can get 2 x 4 pints for £1.60 and Hovis bread is 2 for £1.60. 1kg tub of Kerry butter £1, they also sell fresh sausages, bacon, veg, a small range of cleaning items, hot chocolate.
They do a large range of processed foods but it is possible to get other frozen items that are available in other supermarkets.
I would say it's got to be worth a try as I don't feel you will be disappointed.0
