Baby terramundi is a good idea. You could save as much as possible in it, then maybe spend a proportion when you know you're pregnant and save a proportion to buy stuff after the baby is born. The reason I say that is because babies aren't always that real to husbands before they arrive. Once DD had arrived, my DH was really keen to make impulse buys for her and it would have been great if we'd have had a bit more disposable income for the cute clothes etc that he or we could have chosen.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I don't mean to be harsh but the reality is that a baby is not the same as say, getting a pet, it's not something that will necessarily happen if you want it enough and can afford it, unfortunately, for some people nature means it just doesn't happen. Whilst I'm not saying this will be the case for the OP, it seems silly to waste the money on something that may not happen. If it does, then she will have spent some quality time enjoying her OH in his own right before a massive life change which will fundamentally change their relationship.
I understand that, but the OP is clearly *desperate* for a child, and IMHO your post could really have stopped before adding this bit!0 -
There is nothing wrong with searching for baby things, it won't change anything, it's not bad luck at all.
It is however, affecting you emotionally. That longing for a baby is growing by the day, becoming an obsession.
Have you looked at ways to help you conceive? I'm nowhere near this stage with my dh yet, but friends of mine have been trying for months or years. They have changed their diet, now excercising more, taking vitamin supplements etc. Using those kit things to test and monitor their fertility, trying to maximise their chances of conceiving. Have you tried anything like this? Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I wouldn't say it's bad luck as such but I strongly recommend you don't do it. I think that looking at piles of baby clothes will just stress you out and that will affect your chances of conceiving quickly.
Put the money in a bank account, if you're able to meditate then do so (to clear your mind and stop thinking about it) and baby-dancing every 3 days or thereabouts. Also, honestly, if you do get pregnant, you'll end up buying a whole heap of crap (with the excuse that it's hormone-driven) and you'd just end up with doubles of everything you'd already bought.
Good luck and best wishes. x0 -
I'm not sure how you can relate buying something to whether or not you fall pregnant?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

It used to be that you didn't push the pram before the baby arrived.. but buying bits won't have any impact on anything except your purse.. put the money in the bank and save it until you need to buy stuff. You may find out the sex and only ever dress it in pink or blue so neutral stuff would be wasted.
Besides.. buying when you are pregnant is part of the exciting run up to the birth, choosing things together with dad.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Have you spoken to your GP about this? Asked what tests they have available for you and for your DH?
I can't imagine how heartbreaking it must be going though this. Something seemingly so natural that just isn't happening when you both want it so much. You are doing all you can to make it happen.
I think you need to give yourself a break. Or take a break, go away on holiday for a week or two if you can. Take some time out, step away from mothercare website, step away from all baby related stuff really (easier said than done though!). Just relax, enjoy a bit of sunshine somewhere lovely.
