I'm only two days in, but I'm pleased to report a loss of 1.6 lbs. Of course, that's probably due to daily fluctuations, but I'll take what I can get :D I will only weigh weekly from now on, but wanted to align my weigh in day with most folks on here.

I'm not participating in the exercise challenge, because I'm not ready to commit to regular exercise at this point, but I did manage to pop out at lunch time for five mile bike rides on both Monday and Tuesday.
  • -1lb loss. Not great but a staert and at least going in the right direction now!

No exercise yet, easing my self back into healthy eating first then going to tackle gym next week. Out all the time with dog anyway but dont count that.

Well done everyone keepup the good work. :j:j

Majorly motivated - today I joined a 12-week weightloss challenge at work. £2/week to weigh-in, £2 fine if you put on weight in any week, £2 fine if you're the person who's lost the lowest % of bodyweight that week, but if you overall lose 10% of your bodyweight, you don't pay the weekly weigh-in. Winner takes all - we could be talking £600-700ish. Having your vital stats emailed round the trading floor every week is an incentive to get things moving!

So - 20 minutes brisk walking at lunchtime to buy a new set of digital scales. Crayfish & avocado salad for lunch; cooking pork chop with cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower for dinner. 30 Day Shred DVD to try, and going to the gym tomorrow night.

  • Blimey Tiglath, I think I'd cry if my details were sent round the office...

-2lb for me this week (if the dodgy scales are behaving!) and 3 1/2 hours exercise :)
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

I don't mind at all - it's not as if I'm under the illusion that I'm a slender wand anyway. They can be quite uncivilized on the trading floor, like a load of baboons all hooting and shrieking - so far they haven't flung poo, but it's probably only a matter of time ... I give as good as I get; you can't be a shrinking violet in that environment, especially if you're the hated Compliance function, and if I can beat all the men at this and walk away with the cash I shall feel incredibly smug! The bonus is I don't drink, unlike that lot, so that's one lot of empty calories I don't need to cut out. I'll give it my best shot; I'll be more fit, or possibly more fit and richer, so there's no down side :) Bring it on!

  • Sounds like a good way to do it Tiglath :)

Curious to see which team won this week :D it's like being on the biggest loser.

Hmm, just weighed myself on my new digital scales and they're very different to my old manual scales which I used to join here; I'm 4lbs heavier on the new ones. Should I just stick with the old ones for January and get a reset for February?

Have you got anything of a fixed weight (full bags of sugar or dumbells maybe?) you can compare with? Or weigh something on kitchen scales first then compare?

No I don't think so; I'll stick with the old manual scales for January and then move across with a reset.
