Lose Weight 36

I have somewhat fallen off the wagon over the past couple of weeks.
Here are my confessions:
- I missed last week's weigh-in. I did weigh myself (I was +0.4lbs) but didn't get round to updating on the thread (probably because subconsciously I didn't want to log a gain, although I told myself it was because I was too busy/tired).
- During the football on Saturday night I drank a whole bottle of prosecco by myself, and used it to wash down most of a share bag of crisps. This was immediately after I'd eaten dinner.
- As a result of the above, I was horribly hungover on Sunday, and so went out for a lunch of burger and chips, with a side of garlic bread, at a local pub. On the way home I bought and ate a chocolate bar, and also bought a tub of ice cream.
- I ate the whole tub of ice cream last night. I felt horribly guilty immediately afterwards.
- I've only managed to log all my food for two random days in June. This is my most serious failing. Up until the last day of May I religiously recorded everything I ate, and this is what I credit with my success so far.
Argh! I don't want to undo all my hard work to this point. Not recording my food will inevitably have led to eating more. I seriously need to get back on track.
I have had a very busy period at work, so I'd like to blame that (although I don't think that's entirely justified) and put this behind me. I'm fasting today, to make up for yesterday's ice cream incident.
Anyone got any inspirational stories to share of falling off the wagon for a short while and getting back on again?
Now I've got time for proper lunch breaks again, I'm going to try and inspire myself by reading some of the success stories on mfp, which I've found really encouraging in the past. And tomorrow I'm going to weigh in here, to be accountable.
Count me in for the 5lb challenge, please fred, although it's highly unlikely I'll manage it this late in the month. Something to aspire towards though!0 -

How I see it is so you had a terrible binge week, it's done with now. And it may show on the scales, so be it. I'm also guilty of it at times but we are responsible for what we eat, we on this forum are obsessing enough about what we eat and drink or don't eat and drink to realise that a little of what you like does you good from time to time, even if it is the mental re-focus of a poor week.
Hopefully your confessional will be enough, or likewise, don't be as strict with yourself and tweak the diet to include a little more of those "bad" things.0 -
13.79mi to add to the Rio challenge, 32.86mi total. Weigh in tomorrow morning.0

Svenena, everyone who loses weight deserves recognition but it's the ones that don't give up completely after falling off the wagon are the ones I admire the most.
I used to give up if it wasn't coming off fast enough, or if i'd had a gain. I can see where it got me, years later and i'm fatter than ever (one time I lost 5 stone, weight loss slowed down. I gave up, and put 7 stone back on!). I've only tried to lose weight about 6 times in my life, and if it wasn't because it was coming off too slow it was because i'd been too strict. I used to think you had to practically starve yourself to lose weight, and it takes a bit of getting used to that you can have treats occasionally and still lose.
Draw a line under it and just start again. Forget about what's happened and keep going. It'll be worth it in the end. x0 -
Hi jackieb,
Sorry to have not replied to your message. Wish I could have said something constructive. However, have not felt well in many ways so hence not replying and my brief last post. Anyway, me too, thought 8lb increase was a record for this challenge. At a guess, due to eating too much, (especially Tuesday with Wednesday being my weight recording) and also maybe due to other health conditions.
Been wondering how you have been since our +8lb experience.0 -

My weigh-in is tomorrow and I think i've lost at least half of it. My 8lb gain was due to me putting on 5lb in a matter of days when being good (pretty sure it was water weight), then getting cheesed off with it and then not tracking and going a bit overboard for 2-3 days.
I hope yours doesn't hang around too long either.0 -
fredsnail - A first for me; decided not to weigh myself this morning as considered it may be counter productive. Another similar repeat of the week before so need to not be affected by the scales recording; maybe wanting to eat even more? Hope this is okay and hope to send results the final Wednesday. Is that 2/7/14?0

Hello again jackieb,
Thanks for your reply. Maybe you'll be "slimmer of the week"! Not me, however, no weight recorded. Good luck tomorrow.0 -

Thank you.You need to do what you think is best for you, Dannie. I know there was a girl at my class who knew she had gained a few lbs and didn't want to know, so the class leader weighed her and kept her card for the following week. It worked for her, as she felt she would've pigged out if she'd known she'd put on 7lb.
Good luck to you too.0
