Thank you Mrs B. I hadn't thought of that, so I will try butter. My vet nurse just suggested sardines and pilchards disguise the smell of Tramadol. I wish someone would tell Dog. Either she can smell it, or not much food was required this afternoon; in any event, about half her grub is still sitting in the bowl. Butter tomorrow.
Lamewolf I'm sorry about Dylan. He's the first dog I remember you mentioning when I joined the Flylady thread, and I know how fond you were of him. (((Hugs)))Better is good enough.0 -
Thank you all for your kind words, both about the horse piddle and about Dylan.
If anyone's interested, here's my ol' mate in action, last May.

The new Photobucket site doesn't seem to do MPEGs very well, but it'll give you an idea of what he was like.

So sorry about Dylan - he looked so happy and looked like he had a long and happy life xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Aww LW sorry it's been a pants day.
I've had a productive afternoon.
DS spiderman memory board for his new room. Sorry it's a fuzzy pic, phone camera is rubbish... I tucked a couple of photos in so you can see what it does. Need to make DD one now!

Upto you what you declutter maybe something you've been putting off for a while.
Been under the BBC (Big black cloud) again - alarm went off on my phone yesterday to remind me Healthy Start Milk Tokens run out on 16th - Added up with my calculator and added essentials in for hard cash.
Presented my tokens when cashier scrutinized them and said expiry date was 10th not 16th, she reused to scan, supervisor also refused so I had to abandon my shopping:(:( got home empty of spoons to realise I had also left my £1 in the trolley, Phoned Healthy Start who said tough luck, even when I explained why I had not be able to go out and about. I tried to explain £18 in tokens is a lot of cash to me, and having two little ones I am not able to magic that money out of thin air.
I was told to be more mindful in future, and the next lot expire 7th April :mad::mad:, so if the goalposts keep moving how can I even try to keep up reminding myself :mad::mad: I have no idea where they are
Took DD3 to Orthodontist and ended up in Mr A blowing money I didn't have on CC for things I like of theirs for the cupboard - not very :money: so in one day I lost £19 for nothing and have another debt hanging over me
Start again next week:oThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Dusty: I referred to your OH yesterday as Mr Dusty, when it should, of course, have been Mr Kitten, and Mr Kitten Snr. I apologise for my over-familiarity.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi there.
Been a busy day: S&S bathroom and kitchen, after breakfasts for us, the cats and birds, tidied and cleaned our bedroom, then finished even more paperwork! Then met friend for lunch and later got a well needed haircut! I couldn't see from under my fringe!!
I got us some nice stuff from M&5 as an easy meal tonight (I've been very MSE recently so thought this would be a treat) and also got a lovely top there at half price, so am very happy with my afternoon!
Back home, sorted out cats' dinners, had a cuppa and now chilling for an hour until our meal. Tomorrow morning I'm going to sick friends to clean his flat, change bed etc and do some shopping for him, then will get our shopping on way back and we've already washing piling up!
Good wishes to all, special wishes to Dustykitten; I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. My dear father had the same illness, what a sad time. Special wishes to Lamewolf, I'm sorry to read about your trial at the hospital and also about Dylan - but what a lovely clip of him. Have a great time at the theatre tomorrow! Skint, I'm sure things will turn round for you very soon now, you cope so well with all that comes at you.
And Bossy, what a fab memory board! Your DS will be made up with it!! Sorry if I've missed anybody, but can I get in line for that orange chocolate cake please!? My favourite chocs are the orange ones!!
Bye for now, R x0 -

Well, Honey Bear, I think you are just a flirt!!!
I'm so glad to hear that your doggie is in less pain, that, at least, must be a blessing, even though she is still poorly. Sorry I can't advise on giving pills, other than what has been suggested in hiding them in something tasty, cats are difficult enough to medicate! Isn't it just awful when they are ill.
All good wishes, R x. (Off to tidy dishes and kitchen once more, then food!)
Just adding - you said she liked the feel of wool carpets. It must be the natural fibre, or smell, as our new cat lies in my arms like a baby when .I've got one particular pure wool cardi on. Bless!!0 -
Wee bits and pieces done today, totally washed out and knackered!
Charity shop run - done
Stuff to dump - Done
S+S - Done
Hoovering - Done
Kitchen and all dishes - Done
Have a new tactic for dealing with SD, she got off school bus into car and I looked at her and said "well what ever you're going to strop about today, let have it now so it's all over and done with!"
Cue her giggling and in good form, I shall now ask this question every day and lets see how long she takes to get fed up with strops
Thanks to my Daddy for the advice
Sat here with comic relief on and in the grand scheme of things, I have little to worry about when I see those poor kidsSo from here on I won't let as much get to me and I will tackle it head on and not let it get out of hand.
Thanks to all who offered advice
As for the rest of my evening, I'm going for a nice bath with lots of lovely aromatherapy oils to soothe and calm me, catch you all later0 -
arkonite_babe wrote: »How rigidly do you all follow flylady? Just curious, please don't feel you have to answer in minutiae
Not at all rigidly; it has to fit round work and other life events! But it's given me lots of incentive and the house in general is in pretty fair shape compared with when I 'joined'. I cling frantically onto Valli's "Don't put it down; put it away" and I'm generally much tidier. It's so true that a blitz now and then can make it easier to keep on top of everything. I'm almost disappointed when my days off are so busy I can't do a really good clean - and if you knew me, you'd realise what a miracle that is!!
Plus lots of good friends - but that means I spend flying time catching up on the thread..........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Skint sounds like you had a very stressful day
LW sorry to hear you've had a difficult day. Dylan looked a lovely dog.
Today after work I went and returned an unwanted dress and picked up a few toiletries I needed. Since being home I've done a few bits and pieces around the house and cleaned the bathroom. I haven't hoovered as planned because my OH has a huge headache and I thought it could wait till tomorrow.
Busy day tomorrow going to visit family, so will do some laundry and maybe the hoovering I've not done today (all upstairs and the stairs). My list to date:
Monday - Rooms of Doom
Basic Flying
Clear the floors and hoover them
15 minutes tidying this area
Dust anything electrical
Deep Cleaning
Wipe some paint work
Clean a window or two
Take everything off the most cluttered surface, wipe it clean - do you really want to put it all back?
