Just curious - how much do cleaners generally cost for an hour?
Considering it now
I've just had a local company come to quote and they have said that it's approx £13.20 per hour, but you get 2 cleaners for that, so it takes less time per session.
They said that as standard they usually do an extra hour or two on the first session as a 'deep clean' This then makes it much easier to maintain going forward for them.
When I get a full breakdown I will feedback.
OP - I definitely think that you should look into it - if you can afford it you are boosting the economy whilst hopefully giving yourself a break.0 -
OP have you saw any of the FLY posts on old style? I lurk on these threads and they're great. I never finish a whole list but you basically pick a room per day and go from there.
I'm not able to move furniture about either, I have carers and my sister but they're busy with the caring bits to worry about my skirting boards so I have a cleaner every 2 weeks for 2 hours and she strips and remakes my bed too. She charges £30 and has a key (don't do this right away - build trust first) so she can come and go as she pleases within reason and I don't need to be home from work for her.0 -

That's very cheap. The company will be taking something off that before the cleaners get paid so how much are they earning?
(NMW is £6.19 an hour)0 -

It may be £13.20 per hour per cleaner
If it is in total, It may be that the 2nd cleaner only comes for one of the hours.
I will report back when I receive the quote.0 -
There is no need to be ashamed about this. Propably half the population have houses like yours which occasionally need a good deep clean because of illness, lack of time or other reasons.
There are cleaning franchies which exist like "Molly Maid" who will come in and do an occasional one-off deep clean, or visit at whatever intervals you specify to give your house a clean. Why not google "molly maid cleaning franchise" and see if there's one in your area. If you input your local post code you might find one locally.0
