I'd rather nothing, since you asked so nicely.

Maybe you're confusing cleaner with cat sitter?

Yes, seek to criticise, and give no solution. So easy, isn't it?

It's up to you if you confuse cat sitter with cleaner. I have two cat sitters and a cleaner, and am not confused about who's who.

    Whom.

    But nevermind.

Carry on pawning off you're responsibilities - let's focus on the matter in hand.

    Yes, carry on your denials.
You started the line of query.
And don't take in the information that is given. It's all there for everyone to read, so just carry on denying and throwing silly accusations.

Yuk, what next, asking the cleaner to pick up dog poo from the lawn?

Back to IHD, don't worry, get a cleaner in, but surely due to your health problems, isn't there help available from SS or whomever?

OP, don't be embarrassed. I never pull my tv out and only pull the sofas twice a year, I think it's quite normal!

I used to clean people's houses and have to say the one that actually looked like it needed cleaning was the best as you can actually see the result. There is nothing worse than cleaning somewhere there that doesn't really need doing. Bite the bullet - keep a cleaner happy :)
  • Get a cleaner! It might come as a surprise but...that's what they do.

And if a cleaner is ok being paid to sort the cat litter out when the person paying their wages isn't home then what's the problem?

OP, most cleaning agencies will do a one-off deep clean (and what better time to do it than Spring!). It's a standard service they offer and you shouldn't feel embarrassed arranging one.

If you can afford it, why not get yourself a weekly cleaner too? There's no shame in it, particularly as you (understandably) find cleaning exhausting.

I agree with Fluffnutter, get an agency to do a one-off deep clean. You'll never see them again, so you won't feel embarrassed.

There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.

I'm not even ill and I have a cleaner, just because I can't cope without one.

My friend had a deep clean of her house and she thought it was great. They were very thorough. Just get it done. It will only take them a few hours and you'll feel so much better once it's all done.

  • You really shouldn't feel ashamed or be stressing about the state of your house. No one cares as much as you do and your health is way more important! If it really is bothering you and you can afford to have a cleaner in then just do it. Like others have said, cleaners don't expect to come in to a spotless house, they expect to walk in to a house that needs cleaning. And I can't imagine any will judge you if you say you need x,y and z done because you aren't able to do it yourself due to your illness.

I used to have a regular cleaner - I tidied up before she came so she didn't have to work around things left out or waste time dealing with things I don't mind doing myself etc but she did all the real cleaning (floors, windows, bathrooms etc) and it was wonderful and she never complained about it being dirty- I'd highly recommend it to anyone who dislikes cleaning and has spare cash!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
