Payday at last!!!!
Paid £200 off Barclaycard as planned so now down to £540. Since March I have overpaid by £1182.83.
Added £6.46 to VSP so now got £231.43.
Mr SA was ok last night. The chemo was starting as we left. The anti-depressants are starting today. Not had so many phone calls from him today up to now. Told him not to make so many calls - he rang his sister 18 times while she was on her way to visit him!!!! What worries me is his phone bill - he is on a contract which is meant to be capped at £20 per month. Hope this hasn't become un-capped as dread to see his phone bill if it has! Asked him to please consider the phone bill and he just said "it's all about money to you". Tried to make him realise we're living on a tight budget at the moment. I said use your phone by all means but not so excessively. Stick to your 500 free minutes and get some of those free texts used up!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hello Sun.A, :hello:
I looked at your weather forecast on Friday night with sinking heart; don't know exactly where you live of course, but it seemed impossible that Saturday would be fine for you and MrSA..
So was delighted to read that the rain held off long enough for you both to enjoy a great day together - and MrSA's 'Little Britain' act made me chuckle!
Really need to take a leaf out of your debt-busting book, Sun.A - am filled with admiration for your efforts; keep it up! :T0 -
Just to warn you that the anti d's will take a while to kick in.
That is an awesome debt reduction.
Hope hope hope the phone is capped.

Hi Robin and Beanie
Robin - weather was perfect Saturday - hot and sunny until 5pm. Hot enough to sit outside and eat. We live in the East Midlands.
Beanie I've been told anti d's will take about 2 weeks at least to kick in so am prepared. Love how you say "keep plodding" - will do!
Mr SA very quiet and subdued tonight. Chemo is taking its toll and he's very tired. He says he is just going with the flow and what happens happens. The good news is his phone bill has arrived and it's only the capped £20. Phew and phew again! Only got 3 calls today so maybe he's finally started listening to me for the first time in years!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hello SA xxx
Must be tough to be worrying about money at the same time as all of this.
So glad the phone was capped! Mine wasn't and last month when my friend was having work issues mine went from it's normal 20.20 to 80 quid, was gutted to say the least! and it stuffed my budgets!
So how you doing today? have you eaten? It is hot here today, I am dog sitting(!) hope work is over quickly and Mr SA is doing good xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

You know, it really cheered me up to hear that Saturday went well for you and MrSA.. Reckon my homehome is about an hour or two's drive south of yours - it bucketed down there all day.

Is MrSA having chemo for five days? This dose is likely to hit him pretty hard, so don't be surprised if he's inconsolable and takes it out on you when you visit - it's the drugs, not him.
Meanwhile, I don't want to nag but - are you hassling the OT about a stair-lift? It would be really good if that could be sorted out by the time MrSA recovers from this batch of chemo..
Time at home is invaluable in aiding his recovery - as I'm sure Saturday proved to you.
Good news about the 'phone bill (though expect you'll get fewer calls from MrSA over the next few days while he's zonked-out).0 -
Thanks all!
Mr SA has seen a psychologist today. She rang me at work and is going to have a chat with me tonight.
Robin - this is the 5 day high dose chemo he had last month which knocked him for six. We are meant to be having our house assessed by OT although heard nothing yet.
Buffy - lucky you with the hot weather yesterday. It bucketed it down here, although very muggy. Today the sun and heat are back with a vengeance.
Good news on the finance front - got the £50 goodwill payment from nPower today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I hope you get some help and answers from the psychologist.
You are still doing really well with everything. Big pat on the back XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hello all
Saw the psychologist yesterday and she agrees Mr SA is depressed and has prescribed anti-depressants. She expects to see an improvement in his mood by 2 weeks. Saw the consultant today who went through everything that has happened since Easter. The upshot is things are looking more positive and the scan results were encouraging. This latest batch of chemo will finish Sunday, then it's the wait for the blood counts to rise, possibly a day at home next week. Then 2 weeks at home before the extreme chemo and stem cell transplant which will mean 3-5 weeks in hospital. Estimated end of treatment is end September. There is high risk lymphoma could come back within 2-10 years but he will be monitored. Consultant says this type of lymphoma is extremely rare especially in the part of the brain that Mr SA has it (trust him!) but recently he has been seeing 15 cases a year of brain lymphoma and he covers all of East Midlands.
So things are looking more positive at the moment dare I say it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
