Just dropping by with early morning hugs and a cup of tea
It is a nice day here. need to get out in the garden

Good morning Buffy - just about to brew a coffee actually! Hope you bought some nice things last night.
Bit cloudy at the moment here but the weather forecast says it will clear soon. Planning to spend the day in the garden and taking the dog for a couple of walks. Hopefully I won't have a repeat of last Sunday when I think I must have spent all day crying in the garden. It's too hot for her so probably won't be going far - although tempted to walk up to the local Costa just about a mile away and sit outside it with her. But maybe I should be more MSE and just use one of my Costa pods in my Tassimo machine.
Need to make some soup later for work lunches - I know it's too hot for soup really but I'd rather make a big batch of it on a Sunday to last me all week than faff about making lunch for the next day at night. I roasted some veg the other night so just need to add some veg stock and blitz it in the liquidiser and I'm all set for the week.
My knee is so sore this morning with a lovely scab coming up and bruising to both knees. Feel guilty moaning about trivial injury when Mr SA is going through so much.
Off to make that coffee in the Tassimo now!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hello Sun.A, :hello:
Ouch! ..Hope you got the young man's name and address, just in case.
Good decision to avoid the two mile walk and coffee-shop bill.
Soup is great stuff when you don't feel like eating or are short on time; yours is one of my winter favourites.
Hope today is a good day for MrSA, steroids notwithstanding.0 -
SA, you could put lots of herbs and tomatoes in the soup and have it chilled like a gazpacho? Sorry to hear about your scabby knee, and that chap should be reported. If a car driver knocked you over, the police would have been called, no matter how minor the injuries.
Hope MrSA is more alert and calm today. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Sorry to hear about your meeting with the cyclist, hope your knee improves. We have loads of cyclists on the roads by us, they head towards Wales and some of them go at quite a speed. I have Tassimo machine, I know the pods are'nt cheap but it's my little treat and you don't pay as much as in costa. Weather lovely here just going to walk the dog. Hope you have a relaxing day.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Thanks everyone
Satchmo - I can't get my head round gazpacho - cold soup - I've tried it before on holiday but mmm. Thanks for the tip though. Made 4 day's worth so will keep me going until Friday. I find eating home made soup for lunch at work helps keep my weight down - started doing it when I went to Weightwatchers 11 years ago. - it worked and the weight has stayed off ever since give or take the odd holiday/Christmas gain.
Mr SA was ok tonight but still strange. Finding things hilarious that weren't even funny. He seems to be in his own little world but at least he's happy in it for the moment. I know you shouldn't look at these things but I'm afraid I looked at a brain tumour website that tells you what to expect in the final few weeks. And you've guessed it he is showing loads of these signs. Hoping (praying more like) that these "signs" are down to the sheer amount of medication he's on. I've got to stop being so morbid and pessimistic - you wouldn't want me around when you're ill I'd have you in a wooden box! Guess it's only natural though given the circumstances.
Dog is much better poop wise - thanks to those who suggested natural yoghurt - she loves it and it looks like it's done the trick.
Been thinking - need to learn to drive when I get the spare time. Took and failed my test years ago so will need refresher. It's the only way I'll be able to get anywhere decent with dog eg seaside (sunny Skeggy is my nearest - don't get too jealous!).
Not been too bad today apart from this morning when I went upstairs to do the ironing before it got too hot and I spotted his suitcase on top of his wardrobe with the Villa Plus tag still on it from January when we went to Lanzarote. He was perfectly healthy then and we had no idea of what lay ahead. I broke down. It's just so unfair.
Feel a bit down tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
