So now I have no kitchen at all, no oven, no sink, no water. Having to fetch water from the bathroom. Washed the pots in the shower!!! We had a microwave curry tonight. Was very tempted to go to the pub but couldn't face going back out in this miserable weather.

Some progress has been made, the electrician has started the wiring.

Fed up of this cold wet weather, can't get anything dry, although can't wash anything now anyway.

It'll be worth it in the end :|

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

I caved in and ordered a pizza tonight, Mr SA was complaining about the jacket potatoes and salad I had planned. However, tomorrow is the Waitrose meal deal - steak for Mr SA (which I cook in the slow cooker) and I'm having the starter which is a mushroom risotto (microwaveable). Veg will be cooked in the steamer. Sorted!

The only progress today is the plasterer has done half a wall. Tomorrow I'm choosing the bathroom suite and the French doors are going in.

The patio doors are in :) They look fab, really pleased with them. The builder gave me the keys, said not to let Mr SA have them until he's finished them as he was worried he'd fall over the wires and pipes in the way. As soon as he'd gone, Mr SA pestered me for the keys so much I gave in. He was in and out of them, locking and unlocking them, in and out of them again and again!!!!

As the washer is out of action due to no kitchen, took some clothes to a launderette. Have not visited a launderette since I was knee high to a grasshopper and didn't realise there would still be a call for them. Cost a fortune and I'm not convinced the clothes were that clean. However needs must.

The bad news is the builder can't get hold of the kitchen fitter :(

More bad news is the bathroom is coming out Monday and we'll be left with just the toilet overnight - no shower or sink :( what about my hair :(:( My hair in the morning is like a birds nest, only tamed by washing every day :(

Hopefully the bathroom will be all in place Tuesday so only one night but am really dreading it.

It's getting to the stage where it's almost not viable to cook an evening meal. Managed ok-ish tonight but had two trips to the bathroom with the pots. Mr SA just sat with his feet up watching TV no help at all.

I've told him a few home truths today and he didn't like it - mostly around how selfish he is and how he doesn't help. His answer to that is he knew I wouldn't be able to cope with building works!!! I told him it's an ongoing thing not related to the building works. Ugh!!!

I've drawn a line under June's targets as everything went pear shaped when the building work started. The only thing I achieved was doing the 16,000 plus steps for 10 days or more. Lost count of AFDs but it wasn't as many as 12, I think it was 7/8. Not saved much at all, less than £100, will check grand total later. Extra exercise sessions have been dire - gym has now closed down, too dusty to do them at home and I've been busy on Zumba nights. However, now the radiator is up in my home gym I can clean it up and clear a space in there (being used to store bathroom stuff).

Plumber is coming to fit the boiler today. He said he would temporarily fix up the washing machine tomorrow when he comes to remove the bathroom (eek!).

Might pop up to launderette with my whites this morning. DS and family are coming today, not ideal, but they need to pick up DGD's birthday presents (which I must wrap up PDQ).

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

Plumber didn't come to do boiler. Had a text last night saying not coming, only saw it this morning. Not bothered really as in the grand scheme of things the boiler isn't important at the moment.

Thank goodness for a lovely hot sunny day today :) Meant we could sit outside when DS and co came. DS thought the house "wasn't too bad, quite tidy" - he hasn't got to live in it. They're off on their hols tomorrow, going to Wells next the Sea, not too far away, about 2 hours from ours, bit longer for them as they're about 45 minutes further north.

Got Mr SA a lamb shank (microwaveable) from Aldi today. He enjoyed it. I had steamed fish, potatoes and veg - healthy but boring. Tomorrow we'll definitely be eating at our local Spoons.

It will be worth it in the end ... and repeat .....
