Unbelievably have been to the launderette again today. Washing basket more or less empty now though. Killed four birds with one stone as was also a good walk for dog, an Aldi shop and meant I'd clocked up 10,000 steps before lunchtime. Couldn't believe it when we got home and Mr SA was asking about lunch.
DGD's 3rd birthday today. They got back from Wells Friday straight to hospital with her as she'd come down with bad tummy bug. After spending all night at hospital, she's now ok. Tomorrow they are at hospital with DGS as he has a lump on his head that won't go. Been there, done that, oh the joys of small children!
Stumbled across letter reminding me Mr SA has brain scan this Tuesday!! I'd not realised it was so soon.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Today's progress is kitchen ceiling now plastered and bathroom is partly tiled. No sign of kitchen fitter though. Really fed up of the mess now.
DGS's lump is a cyst on a bone which will be left for now maybe removed later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Mr SA had his 6 monthly MRI brain scan last night. He was very wobbly when he came out and had to sit down for a while. Took him for a pub meal on the way home which he enjoyed. Very expensive night though with taxi fares and food.
We now have a kitchen fitter, the kitchen is being delivered next Wednesday and will be fitted by the weekend. Feel more positive now I've got an end to the hell date
Shower is now up and running but the shower screen is about 3 inches too short and the shower just hits the side of the bath and goes on the floor. Have complained and the plumber is meant to be putting right. I'm rather annoyed as I particularly asked for a bigger shower screen for this reason.
I feel like I'm moaning at times but I'm paying good money for this, having remortgaged for the next 7 years, and it needs to be right.
Mr SA had a nasty fall this morning and has hurt both knees which are swollen and bruised.
I was starting to think maybe we shouldn't have booked the August holiday to Ibiza as the money would be better spent on the house, especially as we're going to Lanzarote in October. However, I am so stressed by the building work I think I need to get away ASAP.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Boo to OH falling.
Must be the day for it as i had a spectacular one today

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

We had building work done last year, everything went smoothly but I was so glad when it had ended. For me it was getting rid of the skip that was on the drive it took about ten phone calls and six weeks after the building work had finished for it to be removed. Just the sight of it could bring me to tears. It will be worth it in the end but just like me you won't be in a hurry to have anymore work done on the house.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Thanks Amber. We've had a lot done and ideally we should've moved out but where would 3 adults, a dog and a cat go? No family we could go to. Fortunately this is the biggest job we'll ever have done, the rest will be just decorating thankfully.
