    Last day today :(

Can't believe I started with a sore throat and achy feeling yesterday, still feel rough now. Spent all day relaxing in the sun, didn't feel up to trekking about. Got everything in my medical kit but cold and flu relief, mental note to pack some next time.

Mr SA argumentative last night, suspect one drink too many. Left him watching TV and went to bed, really did not feel like arguing with him. I think a week with only him for company is enough.

That aside, we will have a lovely last day today. Despite feeling ill will go out for lunch somewhere nice and pick presents up for the grandkids. Then relax all afternoon, followed by a nice meal out tonight. Taxi picking us up at 10am so not too early a start. Hate travelling back, seems to take forever.

Had a look at villa availability but booked up for all October. November 2nd is free mmmm....

Go for it, before someone else does! ..Think what a positive effect it will have, knowing you've got another break to look forward to - and what you'll be getting when you arrive. Having found a villa that suits you and MrSA so perfectly is something special; worth going out on a limb to secure it for your next holiday (presumably payment can be spread out?).

Back home :( Freezing cold :(

Left the villa at 10am yesterday, finally got home at 7pm. Took 2 hours to get from an airport that's normally 30 minutes away because of roadworks.

Dog ecstatic to see us. House needs cleaning, not too bad, nothing broken or missing.

Looking to book again but Mr SA only wants to fly with Jet2 after cramped Thomas Cook flight. Narrows it down a bit. Rubbish flight times from now until October for Lanzarote. Have seen another villa, spookily the one we had booked 4 years ago that I had to cancel. Mr SA wants that one, bit more expensive than I wanted to pay but do-able. This would be for 5 October. It would mean no summer holiday though. Still thinking about it.

Talk about back down to earth with a bump, came home to letter inviting me to book smear test, letter from my dentist of 20 years saying he's left and I've got a new dentist plus Mr SA has a PIP form to fill in. No doubt he'll have to go for another assessment :(

    Welcome home!

Have put the next holiday on a back burner for now. The price may come down if I leave it a while. To be honest there probably won't be a summer holiday anyway as with luck we'll be having the work done on the house and will need to be on hand. I think it's best if I concentrate on that for now as I can't put up with living in a house so badly in need of refurbishment for much longer. So annoying that the money is there but the problem is getting a builder to do it. It's not as if a lick of paint would sort it out, we have ceilings literally falling down. Mr SA can't do anything, I seem to spend most of my spare time cooking and cleaning and am useless at DIY anyway.

As the original builder still hasn't had the good grace to contact me my Plan B is to contact my friend whose hubby is a builder. Plan C is the builder DS knows who is working down our road at the minute. Plan D is to get a stick of dynamite and blow the house up!

Have done my finances, got paid last week, bills all paid (including first instalment of new mortgage!).

So during March I added £44.01 to my VSP, £40 to my ISA and £50 to my regular saver. Total saved in March = £134.01. Not as much as I would have liked but not too shabby all the same. I kept on top of my CC which is very important and I did overspend by £150, so savings could've been higher. No particular target for April but hope to smash the March figure.

The first thing Mr SA said to me today was "are you going to Weight Watchers today". Just what you want to hear the day after a holiday and it also meant he thought it was Saturday! I don't think I dare weigh in tomorrow - I think I need a week of getting back to normal first.

Beautiful sunny day here today. Walked to the local Aldi early this morning, impressed with myself how far I walked, I'd done 10,000 steps by 10am :)

Did some tidying up in the garden, will finish tomorrow.

DS and family came to visit this afternoon. Mr SA very rude telling them it was time to go after less than 2 hours. DD even ruder by not having the grace to even come out of her room to say hello. Birds of a feather :(

Just remembered I forgot it's Easter and didn't get Easter eggs for the grandkids. Oops.

  • Not Easter til next weekend though, so you still have time.

Sorry DH and DD were both self absorbed Xx

They only visit once a fortnight Lucky. Although could get them a bit of something for then. To be honest DS GF is from a very large family so they will be showered in Easter eggs. And we did get them a present from Lanzarote. Plus I've got a sand pit on order for them from Argos so maybe not so bad after all ;)

Along with the sand pit, a pressure washer is on it's way between 7am and 10am tomorrow. We need this to clean up the patio and drive of the winter grime. So a busy day planned for tomorrow. No doubt I'll be doing most of the hard work as Mr SA gets a bad back after about 3 seconds of doing anything!
