Sorry to hear that Mr SA is so upset. He doesn't need to be worried about this type of thing.

It's natural to worry about the dreaded DWP. Fingers crossed.

I can't see any reason to worry about the DWP assessment, he's got nothing to hide and I'm sure as soon as he walks through the door they'll be able to tell he's genuine. He's never had an assessment before and he's been claiming for just over 3 years. Not sure if the assessment is for PIP or ESA (or both?) - I filled in a form some time ago for ESA so think it might be this. His PIP has been awarded until 2018. Anyway there's no way he could work unless it was for about 30 minutes a day!
So the whole weekend has revolved around him sitting in a chair with a long face. It doesn't help that the appointment has come smack bang in the middle of the brain scan and consultant appointment. It really couldn't have come at a worse time. Although we're getting them over and done with in one fell swoop!
Walked to the local shops yesterday to pick up a paper. Took me ages but I did it. Shocked to see Mr SA on his scooter on my way back, I made him go way in front of me, I'm still nervous about getting too close to it. I did literally just steps short of 10,000 yesterday so didn't do bad. I think I'm doing so many steps because I'm taking more steps to cover the same distance as I used to - but nevertheless they are still steps and every one of them is an effort. Both my legs ache but my ankle is fine. In fact my good leg hurts more at the moment.
Spendy day yesterday Mr M delivery £70 plus £51 in the Boden sale. I had been hanging my nose over 3 tops in the Boden sale for a few weeks, and yesterday they were in the final clearance extra 20% off so I decided to go for it - 2 tops and a sweatshirt for £51 when the sweatshirt alone should have been £50. I've had a few tops from them always in the sale or when they send me a £10 gift voucher from time to time.
Finally payday on Tuesday, taking forever to get around to this month! No council tax to come out of it so a bit extraAlthough once I've put the monthly bills money away, paid off my credit card and put some money away for holidays there won't be anything left.
Plucked up the courage to weigh myself yesterday and was pleased to see I've only put on 2lbs.
Today's plans are to do the meal plan for the week, sort my finances ready for payday and just generally potter.
Must to remember to submit last lot of taxi expenses tomorrow, this will cover my spend on the bus pass.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Mr SA has got his work boots out. He has also calculated that he'll need to borrow £5k for a van and £1k for tools. No comment!
Didn't even bother to get dressed today. Got lots of little niggly jobs done, work clothes out ready for the week and tonight's meal is already prepared (stir fry). No spend day tooI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Well done on the steps and the minuscule weight gain. That's not bad seeing you've been out of action for so long.
Can't blame you for ordering Mr SA to drive in front of you though! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hello SA
Re Mr SA assessment it will be one or the other ( ESA & PIP) likely its the next process of ESA if you have filled in a form. Everyone gets an assessment at some point. That was one of the main points of ESA unlike incapacity where you would never get a face to face assessment.
If Mr SA is worry about the assessment - I would tell him he certainly won't get it if he continues to talk about vans and wearing work boots!
I appreciate though he is still relatively young and he wants to be the working man of the house. It sounds as if he has never really adjusted to that.
As you mention the scooter, I wanted to say I have taken what has happened to you on board. My Dad bought me a far more powerful mobility scooter to walk the dog, and I notice when I take my hand of the accelerator to stop, I still am propelled a couple of metres before I stop and more when I am on a slop. Same as on a automatic car?. I don't stop immediately. So I wanted to say a little positive one from talking about this on your diary. I am very careful where I stop!
Re good leg, mine often aches more, when I am trying not to weight bare on my dodgy leg, suspect you are still doing this subconsciously, more walking and confidence building and this will get better, and you will be burning fat as well!

Thanks BM, your thoughts are much appreciated. He's never had an ESA assessment and he's been claiming for over 3 years. Can't see them taking him out of the support group, he's just not capable of work, sadly. He still thinks he'll be going back to roofing at some stage despite his consultant saying he won't regain his balance. Glad my mishap served a purpose re your scooter awareness. Mr SA has often made comments about his not stopping immediately.
Bus to and from work today - hard work walking but managed it. Must be burning some calories with all the effort
Submitted taxi fare expense claim at work, over £70.
Meter reader came to read electricity meter today, not looking forward to the bill as I suspected a while ago I might have been getting day and night unit readings mixed up. After asking his advice it looks as though I might have been. He did say he struggled to distinguish them as it's not clear on the meter which is which.
Today has ended with another AFD and NSD
Payday tomorrow - finally!!!!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
