When Mr SA's mum was alive she was the same. Every year she was supposed to come to us Boxing Day, I got food in ready. She used to go to her daughters Xmas Day, have too much to eat/drink and be ill the next day. One year we went to hers, she was ill on the sofa and had literally put an unopened pack of cheese, bread, etc and said help yourselves (although this memory always makes me smile).
I can understand why people go on holiday for Xmas.
Today's plan is to do the much put off meal plan. Also to take the shellac off my toes as looks awful now, just on the ends - had it done at the end of September.
Need to get back on track WW wise as the time is getting close to being up and about again and back on the scales, although I'll be so pleased to be on two feet again I don't think I'll be that bothered.
Will be a very low spend day today just sending Mr SA out for a paper. I have to write it down on a bit of paper or he forgets by the time he gets to the shop!
Payday tomorrowI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Ended up buying a huge storage box from Argos, delivered this afternoon, for the Xmas decorations.
Set up foot spa this afternoon and soaked my feet in it. It was bliss on my ankle. Wish I'd tested it before I did the Argos order as I would've bought a new one. Had mine ages and it no longer bubbles. The massage action was lovely on my foot though. Foot is still swollen but I can put it down on the floor flat now which I couldn't a couple of days ago. I think it's ok to get wounds wet as physio washed them with saline and they're not so much wounds as scabs now. Going to start using the bio oil tomorrow to try and reduce scarring.
Mr SA went to have his hair cut earlier on and left the back door and gate wide open!!! I only realised when I felt a draft in the house. Luckily the dog hadn't noticed until I did or she would've been off! Cue race in wheelchair to get there first. He is so careless it's unreal.
Text to Mr SA from DS today not coming - ill with tummy bug. Funny that DD has got pictures of him out with mates last night on FB! I think hangover is the word!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Decided to cut my losses and order a new foot spa - coming tomorrow. Added to it a cheap lady shaver so I can shave my leg without worrying about wet razor nicks - I am lethal with wet razors. To be honest the hair growth isn't that bad for 5 weeks without shaving. I'm not particularly hairy and only shave once a week. I never shave the top half of my legs as don't need to.
I think the warterproof cast cover has a leak as cast was wet after my bath. It's currently on the radiator drying. My leg is freeFeels good
Just about got a slipper on the foot.
DS claims they will visit tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. Heard DD on phone to his GF, overhead her saying "so he was drunk".
Asked DD if she would like anything in particular for her birthday in a couple of weeks, bearing in mind it's her 30th. Not really was the reply. Loathe to give her money as she'll just waste it. To be honest she doesn't deserve anything but it's her 30th and she's my daughter. I don't even remember my 30th, was too busy with a 6 and 4 year old, lost in kids!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Difficult one re DD's 30th.

Like you when it was my 30th you didn't really celebrate it, it was just another birthday but nowadays it's another milestone birthday.
As for families at Xmas, we usually go to MIL's on Boxing Day, truthfully I would rather stay at home as it's the first relaxing day I will have had for weeks. Anyway this year I asked her did she want me to bring some turkey over and she said "you might as well as I'm not doing much food". Felt like saying well we won't bother then. If I have people over for a meal I always do more would hate for people to leave hungry.
Hope your foot continues to heal and a foot spa sounds refreshing.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Thinking of you and hoping ankle continues to improve.
Foot spa sounds bliss xAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

I hope that you enjoy the foot spa, someone kindly lent me one when I got my plaster off after broken ankle, it was bliss:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
