Hope everyone has had a good Boxing Day.

Originally DS and family said they would come today but they didn't. Wouldn't be surprised if they visited her family instead. Can't say I blame them, his OH is from a large family and she has nieces and nephews etc. I'm certain her family is far more fun and exciting than ours (seriously, I'm not being sarcastic).

Didn't do anything much today. Had a look at the sales online but there's nothing I particularly need at the moment. I wouldn't even have gone in town shopping even if I had two legs to be honest. So another NSD. Had a look at finances as it's payday on Friday. All ok as not been anywhere really.

Tried one of the physio exercises I'm meant to start doing tomorrow onwards which was putting my foot on a towel and moving it on the floor. I never expected my foot to be so numb! No feeling in it at all, really weird. Quite a shock! To say I should be walking again in 2 weeks.

Can't believe George Michael is dead :( What a shock! The curse of 2016 continues.

Doing the shuffling foot exercise with the towel on the floor this morning, the cat was lurking menacingly in an empty washing basket ready to pounce :) It's alright the physio saying keep the cast off as much as you can but when you've got a dog and cat very interested in your ankle it's easier said than done. They keep wanting to smell it.

Want to try and get a few things done today. Have tidied up, polished and hoovered living room. Next on list is ironing. Just having a rest right now. DD has gone back to work thankfully so won't see her moping grumpily around the house complaining about Christmas.

Mr SA wanted to buy me a Swarovski bracelet for Christmas but I wouldn't let him as already spent enough and I didn't want him going in town. Glad I stopped him as they are now half price online! Treated myself to one out of the money I got for the jewellery which I haven't touched yet.

Someone stopped him in the street yesterday and asked him if he's run anyone else over lately :)

I think you're coping brilliantly. Glad you treated yourself to the bracelet. Don't overdo the exercises though!

Make sure you don't overdo things, but I am like you can't keep still especially when there is work to done . Don't like a messy house. Was in work at five this morning till twelve o'clock then came home and cleaned the house all afternoon whilst everybody else sat and watched TV. It is nice to sit down and admire your handy work when you have finished tho.xx

Felt quite accomplished yesterday as managed to organise my toiletries drawer. Got quite a few for Christmas and they were just piled up. Put like for like together. I think it's fair to say I won't need to buy anything for the foreseeable future! I could give Boots a run for their money at the moment!

To be honest my ankle feels better when I'm active. I make sure I have a rest in between "doing" though.

Got a Mr S delivery coming this afternoon. This is using the last of the £12 off £60 vouchers they sent me. Not much food, mainly house stuff. I've ordered an electric Spiraliser from the sale, I've got a manual one but can't get on with it.

Today's tasks are do a menu plan and clean upstairs. So glad I booked the rest of this week off work.

I'm glad your ankle exercises are going well, even if the trial they're doing shows it doesn't make much difference to recovery time at least it gives you a feeling of control over it - and a flexible cast sounds like you must have a bit more mobility?

I'm not back at work until 9th Jan (my office is closed altogether until 4th, and I'm away with my boyfriend then) so I know how you feel - now that Christmas is over it's nice to be able to get on with things without worrying about getting ready for the Big Go Back!

Didn't get the meal plan done, will roll it over for tomorrow but must do it before Mr M big shop on Friday. Mr S small delivery today, as I said earlier mainly house stuff not much food. Not tried out the electric Spiraliser yet, probably something to do when up and running again.

Mr SA been a bit of a pain today, expecting me to do him some lunch when he normally claims he doesn't have lunch. Told him no I'm not here to run around after him, he should be doing my lunch! I swear my ankle twitches when he approaches, stumbling about behind me! He's so clumsy.

Had to put hot water bottle on broken ankle foot today as almost blue with cold. Toes tingling. Much better after bath and wash with hot flannel. Have ordered some bio oil on Mr M delivery and will start putting this on scars. Was recommended at hospital. Swelling is now mainly confined to foot so improving steadily. Woke up with stiff back this morning so must have slept funny, not what I needed!

DS and family still not visited by the way despite saying they were coming Boxing Day. So glad I didn't bother laying on a spread! They did the same last year. So frustrating!
