Me too, and we didn't have a shower, so I use to sit in a shallow bath with my leg on a upturned bucket!!!

Feeling a bit chirpier today. Leg not hurting so much. However, 2 reasons not to be cheerful:

Looking at wages yesterday am £20 worse off than usual :( Hoping it's because I've paid emergency tax. Wage slip is viewable online at work so can't check.

Washing machine is broken :( Tried to fix via You Tube to no avail - pump has gone :( Got an insurance policy with Domestic & General but engineer can't come out until Tuesday.

Aside from that I actually feel like getting on with things today so between Mr SA and I we will clean the house as best we can.

We cleaned downstairs, will do upstairs tomorrow. I wiped and polished and Mr SA hoovered and mopped. Teamwork!

A lovely friend offered to come and pick washing up but in all honesty we cleared the basket the other day so not too bad. As I'm only wearing nightie and dressing gown at the moment there's not a lot building up from me.

Have felt a lot better today for doing and not lounging about watching TV. Leg feels better not being elevated to be honest, I've hardly had any pain today although at the moment the cast feels a bit tight so may be swollen.

Local paper shop getting used to Mr SA picking up Times they asked him where the voucher was today, yesterday he couldn't find it even though it was in his pocket! I think it's doing him good having to be more independent.

Very low spend day today, just a small loaf, but big online shop from Mr M due tomorrow which will include that fab offer of a litre of Baileys for £10 -hoping it's not out of stock.

Quick stop off to say - need to raise your leg for a bit despite being uncomfortable in order for fluid to drain and reduce swelling - otherwise can cut of circulation!!

    Sorry - hooray for cleaning

I plan to in a bit BM. Will shortly be laid on sofa with leg up on cushions, starting to feel very tight and tingly.

Anyway forgot to mention how it all happened.

Last Saturday was doing really well, managed to get the whole house cleaned, had been to the hairdressers and Aldi, all before 2pm. Dog needed flea stuff from vets. Decided after lunch it would be a good idea to nip down, Mr SA on scooter and dog and I on foot.

Literally got within steps of vets, Mr SA ran into back of my legs, told him to be careful, next thing I knew he had knocked me over. He carried on running over my leg, I was shouting at him to stop but he just kept on.

Passers by ran over as I was screaming in pain. It took two blokes to lift scooter off my leg. It was really obvious leg was broken as foot was in one direction and rest of leg the other.

Kind people phoned ambulance and fetched first aider from nearby Boots. First aider knew at one glance broken bones. Ambulance came almost straightaway, was blue lighted all the way to hospital as bone was ready to pierce skin. Ordered Mr SA to turn round on scooter and take dog home.

At hospital confirmed ankle broke both sides (inner and outer bone) plus dislocated. You don't do things by halves they said. Very nasty break. Had to have ankle moved back into position before first temporary cast. Don't remember much of this as was sedated. Was warned would have to have surgery ASAP.

Mr SA thinks this is why he needs a car. Everyone else thinks this is why he shouldn't be allowed back on the road. His reactions were so slow when he ran me over. He's lucky it was me and not a stranger. He could have had his scooter taken off him.

I am sure he still thinks it was my fault.

That was a painful post to read SA, must have been very traumatic for you and like you said Mr SA still not realising the severity of it. Pleased you are doing well and make sure you have plenty of rest but if you are anything like me that is so hard to do. X
