Really sorry to read this news and think your rant is very mild. Hope you can get some extra help and that you don't have to stay too long in hospital. Big hugs0

I'm so sorry to hear this.. Is it time for Mr SA to have his carer back for a bit, so that it's one less thing for you to worry about? Much love xxLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Echoing everyone else SA. Here's to Mr SA being suitably chastised and now realising how much you have done for him over the months. I hope the rest of the family will be mucking in to help. And that your fears on the severity of the damage is unfounded.
Rant away as much as you like!

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging messages
Back at home now, ankle is agony, but am getting about slowly with crutches and frame. SIL brought me home last night and has been really helpful. She has nagged Mr SA to death!
Mr SA is trying but he has to keep sitting down and resting so everything is taking ages. I've ordered a waterproof cover for my cast so I can have a shower and a stool to sit on in the shower. Luckily we have all the rails, bath board etc for Mr SA which have come in very handy. I'm managing to get up and down the stairs by shuffling on my bum. I think things will get better once I've got used to it. Still a bit shell shocked and I keep having flashbacks to the accident.
Can't believe how my November plans have been scuppered at the 11th hour. At least I got in some extra AFDs by defaultI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
so pleased that you are back home. Hope the pain is sorted very soon. As you get used to it I think you will find things a little easier. I was in my early 40's when I broke my ankle on a mountain in Cumbria:eek: No downstairs loo, so became very adept at the bum shuffle up and down the stairs:rotfl: I was issued with the old style crutches that you put under your armpits and had some worrying moments until my balance improved LOL then I became quite impressive at hopping up the stairs on my crutches (but not down:eek:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. What a pain. I had plaster for a while after breaking a bone in my foot. Really trying and couldn't wait to get it off.
Will you really have to miss all the parties? Cld you borrow a wheel chair / manage on crutches and family member or colleague give you lifts? Not the same and no bopping but better than missing out.

Glad you're back home even if shellshocked, pretty understandable really. Am sure a nip of whisky from the hipflask will sort that out
Echoing V - take a cab/employ friends as carers..and itd be a great opportunity for Mr SA to not being able to say a word at your going outMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Two of my friends are coming to take me out later this week which will be nice. I don't mind so much missing the work dos but I'm determined to get to the panto.
One thing that made me smile when in hospital was they asked if I'd had a pregnancy test. When I laughed the nurse said you can still get pregnant in your forties! I'm 56!!! Must have been the lack of make up!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
