    Thanks everyone :A

Andrea you seem to have been in hospital ages. Hope you get well soon.

The plans I've been hatching are:

    1. Need to decide on a grocery budget and stick to it.

    2. Need to start trying to fit in a bit of exercise other than walking to work and walking dog. Doing at least 12,000 steps a day but not doing any toning/resistance at the moment. Even if it's only 20 minutes a few times a week.

    3. Knuckle down to a plan to pay off Barclaycard by end August now I know where I am moneywise.

    4. Need to try and start pulling in a few chores in the week as at the moment I'm saving everything until the weekend and struggling. I've decided to try and spend at least 30 minutes Monday to Thursday chipping away at something.

    5. Need to make a menu plan!!

    6. Make a list of things I need to buy and make stop spending so much on things I don't need.

    7. Try and do some gardening/decorating (only painting can't wallpaper!).

    8. And no drinking red wine Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Don't need it as a prop anymore so just a weekend treat now!

I think that's enough to be going on with!

Mr SA has just texted me to say his next lot of chemo starts at 9pm tonight - and it's the biggie!

Andrea, if you need a hospital visitor, I'm local and could pop in? Well, local from Friday, lol.

Sun, how about menu planning whilst you visit SA, as he may not be up to much tomorrow but may want you sitting with him?

As for housework mid-week, break it into 15 minute slots, on the principle that you can do quite a bit in 15 minutes and it's manageable.

A friend told me that bathrooms need to be cleaned daily when your OH makes it home and whilst he's on chemo.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • I'll be thinking of you both at 9pm. Hope all goes well Xx

Mr SA got it wrong! His chemo starts tomorrow! This is brain tumours for you! He is a source of unreliable information! He has been quite confused tonight and was getting upset because he keeps forgetting where he is. It will be a good thing when the chemo kicks in. I saw his treatment plan - 6 months in total. Chemo then either stem cell transplant or whole brain radiotherapy - possibly both. Then rehab. What a long haul!

His walking is tons better and we went for a walk round the whole unit. He even walked me to the door when I was going home.

Satchmo I like your 15 minute spurts idea - I've heard of this before and thought it was a brilliant way to chip away at something. It would be lovely if you could visit Andrea - what a nice thing to do.

PLMBL thanks for your kind thoughts.

  • Sorry the evening didn't go to plan. Even more reason for you to look after yourself now you know for sure it'll be a 6 months minimum haul. Keep strong Xx

    Hello Sun.A, :hello:

Just popping in to say hello and catch up - thinking of you and MrSA and hoping all goes well [and on time] for him today.

Andrea - keeping fingers crossed your weekend leave happens, and the weather is rather better for you than it is outside your window now.

    Thanks everyone!

Andrea I know just what you mean when you say "I just want my man back" - so do I!! :( Hope you're feeling a lot better and get out for the weekend!

Mr SA started his chemo yesterday with another lot going in today. So far he feels ok. Still no word on him coming home.

I can't believe my sim card picked a time like this to pack up! Texting me is Mr SA's lifeline at the moment. Have now got a new one and waiting for my old number and credit to be transferred over within the next 24 hours.

Some good news: the holiday insurance company are paying out in the next few days. I shall put this money to one side so when Mr SA is able to we can go on holiday. We'll both be ready for one!! :)

Have paid £17 off the Barclaycard today so this now stands at £1440 and have put £4.99 in my VSP which now stands at £182.35 (getting closer to the elusive £200!).

Have had two updated bills from nPower - daren't look at them! They have finally taken some money out by direct debit and with another payment due at the beginning of June this should shave some off the balance.
