Hello Lovely xx
Does not sound horrible at all. I do remember worrying and tiresome as it was when Dad was in hospital I felt he was safer there if that makes sense.
Obviously the patient is always wanting to come home (as would I) as it is normality and means you are getting better. Whereas I think the carer who has only seen the person they love with this serious illness cared for by professionals has all that responsibility themselves (even if other people are around, you all feel it the same) without so much as a thermometer(we found one eventually). So I would say totally normal feeling and am sending hugs xxxxx. Like everything with this situation it does become normal though.
I too am hanging on for payday. want to move money around and close accounts.
Will be back later to say hello xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hello Sun.A, :hello:
Oh that's brilliant news about MrA!
Keeping fingers crossed that all goes well and there are no last minutes hitches..
Yes, it will be tiring for you but you'll be fine - sounds like the discharge nurse has arranged support [equipment and carer] which will help a lot.
Tip: If MrA is offered two or three care visits a day while you're at work then do say "yes please" even if you think one will be enough - it's a lot easier to tell the carers to just come once, than to try and change to more visits later if that proves to be insufficient (don't know why..).0 -
Hi Sa, yes great news about Mr SA coming home but I completely understand your other thoughts on the matter! It's a real emotional rollercoaster.
Enjoy your last night of freedom! Chill out on the sofa with full possession of the tv remote and then sleep starfished on the bed.

seizure are very scary to watch and finding a loved one in.
seconds seem like minutes. minutes like hours.
the more you see you can be relaxed so I am told!!
But when ever hubby has one in hospital medical staff appear from the wood work rushing to help each other!
yet at home non medical people like us told to relax and watch time the event.
I have been told not to call 999 unless seizure more than 5 mins
they have injured themselves or stopped breathing
just reread your post about hubby coming home.. it will be different and strange to begin with. can you remember when you brought the first child home how anxious you were, but by the 2/3/4 how chilled you were.
its just a new journey you are taking on this brain tumour train journey.
hope you have time to settle hubby home before all neighbours and visitors arrive so you have to cater for them too..... my house rules were if you hungry thirsty kitchen is there please make me something and wash up before you go. Good luck
Andrea

i can totally understand why you're feeling a bit apprehensive about him coming home. I don't think i'd sleep very well for the first few nights as I do like to panic

Can totally understand where you're coming from with your feelings..of course it's going to be scary at first and don't be afraid to ask for help off the medical people if you're struggling at all. You'll find your own routines given time x0

Thank you so much everyone for your helpful advice :A
Thankfully Mr SA hasn't had a seizure since he went into hospital so fingers crossed this won't happen! DD has epilepsy so knows the score.
After yesterday's delivery our house is now chocka with mobility aids! He is coming home by ambulance tonight around 6-ish. He's been packing since yesterday he's looking forward to it so much. He's still quite confused - I had a word with the doctor about this last night but he passed all the tests (eg date of birth, what year is it, etc) bar the age one - he thought he was 50! Added 2 years to his age! I've booked next week off work to settle him in and make sure he's ok but there is a care package in place for him too.
Going to try and claim DLA for him. By luck someone at work used to work for DWP, she phoned an old colleague who is expert in this and he said to put in claim. Worth a try anyway.
Have received travel insurance payment today and transferred this into savings so we can go on holiday when he is able to.
Payday today so have spent most of the morning calculating, spreadsheeting and banking! (When I should be working) I've put £6.40 into VSP so new balance is £188.75 and paid another £40 off Barclaycard so this is now £1400.00. Will be paying more off this as June progresses, have some money put to one side for this purpose, but need to make sure I have some in reserve if needed first. I'm still aiming to clear the balance by the end of August when the 0% finishes.
Off to update signature now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hope everything goes well today SA
