Hello Sun.A, :hello:

Very good news that DH is perking up and now has a single room. :)

Not such good news about nPower. Were they really the best deal when you switched? Frankly, I don't understand why they're taking so much money from you right at the start. I used to be a client of nPower.. Long story short; the electric bill for my place halved when switched to Ovo (according to Martin's calculator they're still the best deal for both house and flat). They're also human rather than a faceless entity; cannot recommend 'em highly enough. ;)

    Hey Sun
Hope Mr SA is feeling better today. Single rooms are so much better in my opinion (I had one a while back and found it amazing).

As for nPower, over £150 a month for gas seems extremely high to me. Are you certain they're the best deal you can find?

Sending love and hugs to you and Mr SA.

  • wow that is a lot i agree. Can you not get out of the contract somehow? Or call and ask if you are on the best deal. I've just changed from npower as they upped my dd by £30 a month!! No thank you! xx

    Hello all

I'm locked into nPower until Jan 2014 unfortunately. I will be off as soon as. They say as I swapped in winter months this is why payments are high. I haven't built up any credit with them. My energy bills have always been much higher than average. I live in old cold house with ancient boiler and big rooms hard to heat. I would love to move to smaller new house with smaller garden easier to maintain.

Aside from that Mr SA was great tonight. The catheter is finally out and he got out of bed with aid of Zimmer frame but by himself. He also managed to use bathroom with no assistance from nurses. Only downside is he feels depressed and badly wants to come home. It was awful to see him shed a few tears. His sister kept harping on about anti depressants but I don't want him to go down that route unless absolutely necessary. I would rather he had counselling if he feels down. I gave him a pep talk and he cheered up a lot.

Have had another Mr T delivery tonight. Came to £65 but this is 2 weeks worth. Should only need to get some fresh stuff as and when needed.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Glad to hear that he's feeling a bit better physically.Mentally he's probably just realising what is going on and who can blame him being upset.Councilling is a good idea.If he had steroids along with his chemo he may be coming down from them too..poor love must be so confused and scared xx big hugs to you both xx

Sun, do mention the tearfulness to the nursing staff, not from a medication viewpoint. It may well be a normal "stage", but it's good for them to be aware. Glad he is more mobile, that is progress towards home visits.

    Hugs n prayers x

Hi DFW - and to think I only started my diary originally to motivate myself to pay off debt. Little did I know how "interesting" life was going to become! Everyone has been a great support though and I find it really helps putting everything into words.

I'm really angry with nPower today as when I changed over to them at the end of last year they took ages setting up the changeover from Scottish Power which made me incur an exit fee, then they didn't take any money from my account even though I'd set up a direct debit and I ended up phoning them and settling up what I owed to date. They set up the direct debit for the 1st of the month. Still not taken anything out as yet! Yesterday they sent me an email saying my monthly payment was £132 due to go out on the 1st. Today I went into my online account to find they are taking £154 next week and £154 on 1st June! I phoned them up today and they say I'm £266 in debit and they haven't billed me for electricity yet! Hopefully these two lots of £154 will more or less square everything up but I now have to find an extra £22 a month just like that! I will be getting a small pay rise from May's payday onwards so no doubt that will be taken away from me by nPower.

Why is it every time I get some extra money something comes along to take it away! :(

Rant over see you all later!

    Hi Sun Addict,

I'm sorry to read about the problems you had when switching over to npower.

I'd like to take a look at your account and see what's happened and if there's anything we can do.

Could you send me your details to forumresponse@npower.com please?

    Kind regards,

    Adam :)

Very glad to hear MrSA is getting more mobile, but am not surprised this has coincided with a low mood and desire to return home - just a shame the configuration of your house doesn't lend itself to making an early hospital-discharge simple (this is why I asked about downstairs facilities earlier).
Steroids play merry hell with mood, but I'd agree with everyone else that counselling would be more useful than adding antidepressant drugs to the cocktail MrSA already has to take.

I hope Adam (nPower rep) is able to reduce the monthly payments to a sum which is the median of your annual usage, and can get the extra costs you incurred with the previous supplier due to nPower's inefficiency, refunded.

    Thank you all

I've sent a message to the nPower rep - I wasn't expecting that! Hopefully things will get sorted.

Mr SA was a lot happier tonight but had had a fall earlier in the day when he tried to move about too much. He's still unsteady without assistance and he's been told to slow down a bit. He's trying to do too much too soon. Don't know when his next lot of chemo is - his nurse said he will find out. His salt levels are back to normal now thankfully.

    Hello Lovely,

Have been writing reports for work SO boring but over now and this is my first proper free evening. Glad the npower problem maybe solved. Another reason why this place is so amazing.

I did the balance transfer but not put the money on the loan yet.

Who is supporting you at home SA? you are doing a bang up job of supporting hubby. Glad he was happier tonight despite the fall etc.

Puppy and a cup of tea tonight right?

    xxx
