Waving ..... on a day where I have been to a beautiful, inspiring and sad funeral, feeling sad about Victoria Wood.

I remind myself to cherish friendship, including those that are virtual......
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or

Feel like I've been AWOL for a few days. Just been so busy at work and had enough of computers being on one all day. All is well and will update tomorrow.

Another week has flown by. Been really busy at work and not had a lot of spare time at home so not been on here much.

    Weekly stats:

Steps 122,353 - not as many as last week but still over target :)

Did a Zumba class on top of walking to work but would ideally like to do 3 workouts a week

    2 alcohol free days :)

Only lost half a pound at WW but better than nothing - lost 6lbs in total now :)

Still keeping on top of budgets, overspent in the grocery budget as usual so need to look at ways to get this down. The freezer is chock a block with stuff so need to create a meal plan using what we've got.

VSP still the same at £292.32

Been faffing about with my wireless printer as Virgin upgraded our router and everything happily accepted the new one except for the printer. Still haven't sorted it. It's fairly new and it was so easy to set it up from scratch but it just won't play ball at the moment.

Inspired by the MSE weekly email I was going to set time aside yesterday to get quotes for my home insurance as it's due for renewal next month. We pay just under £100 a year for buildings and contents so I didn't think I could improve much on that. By strange coincidence a mailshot from Legal & General arrived in the post offering a £100 M&S voucher with their insurance if you go direct through them. The upshot is I got my insurance for £98 for the year plus £100 M&S voucher - it only took a few minutes and I think I got a good deal as I'm £2 in profit.:money:

Also bought holiday insurance for our Mallorca trip in 8 weeks and 5 days (and counting). £31 for both of us declaring Mr SA's Lymphoma. The thing is he doesn't actually have Lymphoma at the moment but I have to declare it I presume? Better to be safe than sorry.

Had my Groupon pedicure Friday after work and my feet are now sandal ready. Shame the weather isn't, although it was quite warm in the sunshine yesterday, warmer than the weather forecast predicted. Got loads of washing dry.

Only working 3 days this coming week, it's Mr SA's birthday on Thursday so am taking Thursday and Friday off, which will tag nicely onto Bank Holiday Monday, making it a nice long break. He wants to go in town for coffee and lunch and buy some new clothes for our holiday. As luck would have it Debenhams are doing one of their spectaculars next week and as I've got a Debenhams card I'll get an extra 10% off. Hopefully he'll find something in there.

Today I'm helping him sort out his wardrobe so we should be able to fill the charity bag that came through the door last week.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Some serious decluttering achieved today - 3 black sacks for charity and one for the bin. Mr SA's wardrobe is a lot tidier now and I made him throw out anything that was shapeless or too small. We got everything out of the drawers under the bed and culled that too.

Got my summer sandals out in readiness and I certainly don't need to buy any more this year that's a fact.

Took the dog on the park this morning and then after lunch for a walk to the local shops. Mr SA accompanied us on his scooter, he's getting out and about loads on it.

Just making my soup for work lunches now, using some left over sweet potato, carrot, swede and leek. I love how I can throw it all in my soup maker and leave it to do its thing while I am free to do something else.

Now off to catch up with a few diaries.

And here we are back to Monday again.

Did 20 minutes on my cross trainer yesterday afternoon so can put another tick in the activity box.

The charity didn't turn up to collect the bags so I now have three soaking wet bags in the hall. It has rained off and on all day today. Got soaked walking home from work.

Alcohol free day number 1 of the week :)

Zumba class after work so another tick in the box. Popped into M&S on the way home to pick up some liquid soap and came out with a coat, top, two bras and knickers. Expensive soap eh. Luckily all in the sale.

Decluttered/rescued the remains of a bottle of wine left in the fridge from the weekend - enough for a glass. Had to be done in case it went off. So tonight wasn't the planned AFD. Hey ho :)

You can all blame me for jinxing the weather by getting my sandals out! It was hailing, sleeting and thundering here last night - all at the same time! Today was beautiful blue skies and sunshine until lunchtime - it's been raining ever since.

Well Mr SA has seen another birthday. I keep thinking back to him being in the neuro ward on his birthday 3 years ago and I would never have believed anyone if they said he would still be here in 3 years. One weird coincidence is that DS and DD have bought him exactly the same birthday card.

We've been in town today and he got his coffee and bacon roll he was looking forward to plus his posh burger lunch. He's now sleeping it off. He got some clothes for his birthday but he was over optimistic with the sizing and some of them will have to be exchanged. He needed a new suitcase for holiday but we couldn't manage it on the bus with the wheelchair too so have gone through Quidco and bought one online - got £10 bonus plus 5% cashback.

I won't be going to WW weigh in tonight - I did warn them last week I wouldn't be going. Need a week to recover from today's lunch plus yesterday went to the pub at lunchtime as my manager at work is leaving for a new job. If you can remember this time last year she was my new manager and I wasn't keen on her at all. Funny that once things settled I actually got to like her and I'm sorry to see her go.

I keep saying this but I really think my old cat is on his last legs. He can hardly walk now and his back legs are going, he's gone downhill since yesterday. He will be 21 next month but doubt he'll see it - deep down I know I should take him to the vets, I don't want him to suffer. But he goes off like this on a regular basis and the next day he is fine again. He is eating well and alert apart from his legs going but he looks bedraggled as he's not grooming himself much :(

    Payday tomorrow :)
