What a beautiful warm sunny day today
Hope it was the same for everyone else.
Mr M delivery today, came in on budget - just. Really need an admin day to sort out my finances properly. Mr SA is already talking about going in town on Saturday and I could really do without it.
Electrician came today and replaced the light switches and ceiling pendants. No idea how much it was, they are sending a bill. It looks much better though. Mr SA has asked for a quote for a plug socket outside the back door so he can charge his scooter up without having to run the extension cable through the cat flap.
On the decluttering front, have managed to fill a charity bag up for collection Friday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Hello SA!
I just wanted to say how amazingly strong you are after everything you have been through during the last three years. I'm an old mse'r, just coming on to do some debt busting once again and your diary was the first is come across. I've been reading it for the last five days and have finally come to the last page.
It seems like Mr SA is much happier now that he can get out and about again with his scooter.Former Debt free wannabe. Now trying to save for a rainy day!0 -
Hello Floella - you are a brave person reading all my diary, it was certainly a lot more eventful than I thought it would be at the start! Good luck with your debt busting
Beanie - he keeps his scooter outside our back door where there is a covered area - it's what I call my inside outside area
Lucky it's done nothing but rain here today so we are paying for our brief taste of summer.
Friday againThis week has flown by and I can't believe we're halfway through April already.
I lost 1.5lbs at WWTotal lost 5.5lbs so far. I know it's taken me ages to lose it but it is SO hard to lose weight when you don't have much to lose. I can already see a difference in my clothes. If you can remember I was disappointed with myself because I had to start buying the next size up. Hopefully I will soon be back at my fighting weight.
The bill came today for the electrical work we had done £122 which isn't bad at all, I was expecting it to be a lot more. For the outside power point plus a new consumer unit it will be £390 so will probably have this done as soon as I can afford it. Our present consumer unit is a very old one with fuse wire so is well out of date.
More rain forecast for tomorrow so Mr SA doesn't want to go in townI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Evening SA,
I agree its so hard to lose weight when you've not got much to lose. Id like another half a stone or so but the scales will not budge at the mo! Well done on your loss this week.
I didn't think your bill and quotes from the electrician were bad at all!
Have a lovely weekend xMummytogirls x0 -
Back to Sunday again!
This weekend has been busy. Visit from DS and DGD yesterday. She is into everything and quite a handful but so cute.
Got a fab deal from Gr8upon yesterday a £40 luxury pedicure for £16.95, used a 15% off code which brought it down to £14.41 and I went through TCB. My feet so need some TLC to get them sandal ready so will book in asap.
We've been in town today, my idea as I had £20 in gift vouchers and desperately needed some new trainers for Zumba as my old ones have fallen apart. Got some from TK M@xx for £19.99. Mr SA was happy as he got his coffee and a hat and 2 pairs of canvas shoes from Primani. We ended up having lunch in Spoons but can't knock £12 total for lunch and a drink each.
Have sorted my finances this afternoon. The credit card looks horrendous at the moment as the holiday balance has just gone on it but I've already got a good portion of this saved up and the card doesn't need to be paid off until the end of May and I've got 2 paydays between now and then.
So how have I done on my challenges the past week:
Steps 112,000 - done 125,357
Lose 1.5lb - did it
Alcohol free days 1/3 - oh dear
No spend days 1/2 - mmm
Workouts 2/3 - not bad
Decluttering - gone a bit astray and lost track of this
VSP now holds £292.32I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
^^^ Lookin' good, Sun.A! :T0
